How I Spent my Mother's Day

John and I both ran in the Race for the Cure in Pittsburgh today. What a great event! This was my first running 5k, having walked in one on Saturday. Not an impressive finish unless you take into account that I really didn't train for it. I walked/ran a total of less than eleven miles in preparation for the event and before last week, the most exercise I got was chasing grandchildren and knitting. My time was 40 minutes and 49 seconds, well down in the pack, but I did it. Now I will start training for the next one. Is this addictive or what?

John finished in under 30 minutes, but for some reason his name will not come up on the website. Impressive finish for him.

I can't think of a better thing to be addicted to, good for you. It's also great that you and John can do this together.
40 mins doesn't sound too bad to me!!!! And only 10+ under John, I don't think that's bad at all. Your doing more exercise than me. lol

Cathy, Good for you! I don't think I could ever do a marathon. I spent the day at Sauder Village, my turn to work. I don't like scheduling the other gals for today - how can I ask someone else to work on Mother's Day! ~Ann

Have a good Monday! Take care ~Natalie
