A Conversation with JWS
But first a pic of these boys and their first woodworking project.
Papa helped them make their names.
I helped them paint them
and sand them.
They are proud!
And now...
the conversation.
Some things just take too long to explain and you just want a quick answer
so here is how it goes.
And I might add this is typical.
The short version.
I used my last set of contacts and the left one was bad.
I ordered another six month supply,
but called the doctor today and they had a replacement
for the left one
if it was picked up by five.
So, having several people in the vicinity,
(it is 20 miles away)
this is the long version.
ME:
What time are you leaving for town tonight?
JWS:
Why?
Me:
Because I want you to pick up a contact for me at the eye doctor.
JWS:
I thought that you ordered contacts.
ME:
I did, but they are not in yet.
Can you just pick one up for me?
JWS:
Just one?
ME:
Yes, just one.
JWS:
Isn't anyone else in town?
ME:
Yes, Dianna, but she is going to Indiana.
JWS:
Why is she going to Indiana?
ME:
I don't know, but can you just pick up a contact for me?
JWS:
I don't understand why you just need one.
ME:
I threw the last set away,
put in the new set and
the left one is scratched or something
JWS:
Why would you throw the old set away?
ME:
Because they were old and I had a new set.
JWS:
Then what is wrong.
ME:
I am not sure...what time are you leaving for town and
can you pick up a freaking contact for me or not?
JWS:
Did you talk to Dianna?
ME:
Should I just ask Dianna to get my contact?
JWS:
Well, I am hoping to leave here before five.
ME:
But how long before five?
JWS:
Don't you have something else to do?
You have a lot of questions.
ME:
CAN YOU JUST PICK UP A CONTACT FOR ME?????
JWS:
Why didn't you just ask that to start with?
You don't need to get upset.
Sometimes it takes so many unneeded words.
