Week Old Hamburger Bun w/ Strawberry Ice Cream Topping

That is what is on my breakfast menu this morning.  You see, we need to grocery shop.  I have clothes that need washed as well as bedding and towels.  I have no laundry soap.  I have no peanut butter, no bread, no paper towels, and no apples!  I really need that daily apple. 
You ask why? (Not the apple, the rest of the stuff)
Maybe it is this:
Better than half of the fence is down and a lot of brush cleared.
Or this:
Wednesday night's concert.  ZZ Top, they were great and as you see, we had pretty good seats also.
Or this:
I still had to get my crafting "fix" in for the week.
This is made from more of those fabric sample books that I have. 
Or perhaps work, or boot camp, or fair preparations, or grand kids, or who knows what else, but one of the inhabitants of this house really needs to go and get groceries. 
Thank goodness that in the middle of the Fence and Brush Clearing Shenanigans last night, my MIL managed to feed us!

Love, (not really) your breakfast fare Cathy, yes. You really need to go grocery shopping!!!! Great to see the fence down, and the clearing going on, but please! Grocery shop! Or I'll have to send food myself!

Wow, Cathy, it is going to look great with no fence again after how many years? I know I didn't like looking at it when driving by, I can only imagine you guys having to see it daily!

With all that hard work, hope you get sustenance for your bellies!

Some of you asked for this. This is literally one of the EASIEST, most appreciated projects that I have ever made. I timed myself while I made this one and it was finished in under 1/2 hour and that included refilling bobbins, taking pictures, and searching the button box for two matching buttons. They are even faster if 1.) you don't do all of the above and 2.) you make them on an assembly line. Step 1. Cut a piece of fabric for the straps 4 inches wide by 14 or so inches long. If you have a very lightweight fabric, you can double it or use press on interfacing to back it. Step 2. Cut two coordinating rectangles approximately 12 to 15 inches by 15 to 18 inches. This is very loose, you can use vary the size of them. Pin those together on the bottom and halfway up the sides. Step 3. Press the 4 inch rectangle in half lengthwise with wrong sides together and sew around raw edges, then zig - zag the edge. If the fabric frays really bad, you can go over it again. Step 4

Sharpie Markers and Alcohol = Really Quick Art

What a fun, creative process!  Grab all those sharpies that are hidden in your desk drawer. Find that bottle of rubbing alcohol. (Vodka or hand  sanitize might work, you can always experiment) Dig out a canvas,  or go buy some,  nothing like having some blank canvases hanging around.  Draw some wild and crazy lines. Fast and not a lot of planning work best.  Hit it all with some alcohol.  Allow it to move and blend.  I use a brush for the alcohol,  You could use a spray bottle or eye dropper,  I just want a little more control on mine.  And re-outline with a black sharpie!   That's it!  Fast Art!  I will be teaching this next Friday along with two other  fun projects in Mayville, New York.  For more info go to: https://www.facebook.com/ARTRetreatatthelake
