A Kindred Spirit and Chocolate Town to Steel Town

Image
Friday started with work.   The students were working in watercolor and crayon,  doing a crayon Batik resist project.  It should not have been that messy.   A little Kindergarten boy raises his completely paint covered hands and tells me,  “Mrs. Strate, this is when you know you are having fun!”  I could not agree more. Sometimes you find kindred spirits in small children.   JWS and I then traveled to Hershey, Pa in a  rainstorm of very hard to see roads.    We are at the Hershey Hotel for the CCAP conference.   When JWS got the info, he apologized that it would not  be at the Lodge where we stay for the PSACF Convention,   I assured him that the Hershey Hotel was going to be a  huge treat for me! It has not disappointed!   It is beautiful and relaxing and just what we needed  after a year of campaigning!          Our first stop...

Kisses, Snow, Stash Busting

Image
Last weekend was spent in Hershey, Pennsylvania, sweetest place on Earth. Kisses Everywhere! On your soap   On your room number, bathroom wall, embossed on the sheets, soap, shampoo, and even on the parking spots.     And then the snow came. And kept coming! Yes, those are cars under there! Luckily, we had the foresight to move our vehicle to the covered parking lot before it started!   Definitely, one of our smarter moves!   On another note, update on the clean out!   382 items have left the house!     Over 10 percent done!

Some painting, 366 Items and off to Chocolate Land

A few painting that I have been finishing up. I have more wall space in my booth and needed to finish some things to fill it up!   These amounted to seven more items leaving my  house.   Bringing the total to...   366!   I am a tenth of the way there to   3650! Today we are off to Chocolate Land.   Hershey, PA for the Pennsylvania State Fair Convention.   Always a fun time!

Another Visit to Hershey

Image
Always a fun time. We won two third place prizes.    Not bad, considering it is the first time I have ever tried to enter anything. Snow, of course. Our winning table display. Treasure the Memories.   I have one more year to figure out Harvest the Fun!   All ideas accepted!     And , I took the Serv-Safe test.   Ten days until the results. What a long wait.   I think I passed though.

A Sweet Getaway

We are in Hershey, Pa the the State Fair Convention. You have to love a place that drops Hershey kisses like confetti! Hershey kisses on the wallpaper Hershey bars at check-in. Chocolate, everywhere. Does it get any better than this? Dinner, last night. Wish that I would have taken a picture of the dessert. Death, by chocolate! There is quite the story leading up to the departure for this trip. "Normal" chaos of life. and then a speeding ticket along the way. All put behind out of mind and now time to relax and enjoy! Yesterday was spent with a friend that I do not get to see enough. It was so nice to catch up. Why didn't I take any pics of us together?

The Sweetest Place on Earth

And what do you think this has done to the fit of my jeans? It is so not good! Hershey Kisses in your room, with your restaurant bill, in bowls scattered throughout the hotel. Chocolate desserts everyday... Carrots and Celery here I come this week! What a nice weekend though. Entertainment everywhere you looked! More on that later though. I just can't fit it all in one post. One of the highlights of the weekend was reconnecting with a friend that I had lost contact with over the years. We had lunch, talked and wandered around Harrisburg. I had not seen her in 22 years and we picked up right where we left off, talking and laughing as if we had been together yesterday. Amazing! More to come on my weekend. I have to figure out how to get the pictures off of my phone. Yes, the phone. One of my new obsessions. Love the GPS feature. (although I am seriously blaming it for taking me down a one-way busy street in Harrisburg the wrong way) The other new obsession. These cowls. Nat...
