Week Old Hamburger Bun w/ Strawberry Ice Cream Topping

That is what is on my breakfast menu this morning.  You see, we need to grocery shop.  I have clothes that need washed as well as bedding and towels.  I have no laundry soap.  I have no peanut butter, no bread, no paper towels, and no apples!  I really need that daily apple.  You ask why? (Not the apple, the rest of the stuff) Maybe it is this: Better than half of the fence is down and a lot of brush cleared. Or this: Wednesday night's concert.  ZZ Top, they were great and as you see, we had pretty good seats also. Or this: I still had to get my crafting "fix" in for the week. This is made from more of those fabric sample books that I have.  Or perhaps work, or boot camp, or fair preparations, or grand kids, or who knows what else, but one of the inhabitants of this house really needs to go and get groceries.  Thank goodness that in the middle of the Fence and Brush Clearing Shenanigans last night, my MIL managed to feed us! Have a great wee...

A New Purse!

I have had this fabric since the trip to Ohio with my Mom and friends.  I thought it was time to make it..finally.  I have been procrastinating this for so long because it has been years since I actually followed a pattern for anything. I can't wait to make another one!  Funny event of the day:  First of all it was not when Logan used a whole roll of toilet paper to stop up the bathroom sink, causing me to have to tear all the plumbing apart and scoop and plunge and sift and well...yuck, that was not the funny one.  Actually this one should not be THAT funny, it could have been really bad and could still have ramifications to come.  Logan comes into the shop today, he and Tyler were playing in the backyard and he announces, "I ate some of that fruit!"  Jenn and I race outside to see what fruit he might have found.  The neighbor had laid some rotting fruit on a cement block beside her burn barrel and it was covered with flies and he ATE it....

Ok, it is only a dishcloth, but it was started! and now finished. These are the most fun things to work on right now, they are like instant gratification, but for now they are going to be put aside to get some of these other items finished, (well maybe just ONE more...) I wanted to try these little purses that I found the pattern for online. I have so many scraps of this fun fur yarn and thought that these would make cute little purses, now to find some little girls that would like them. This sweater has been laying in my sewing room waiting for inspiration. I had folded and pinned it so many times trying to figure out how to make it into a purse/tote bag. The other night a friend of mine picked it up and folded it just so and there it was! A way I had not even thought of.....how nice fresh eyes are on a project! Thanks Carol! And this is what I made with it. She suggested using the bottom of the sweater as the top of the bag. I cut the holes for the handles and blanket stitch...
