Last two painting orders!

Image
Jumping for Joy! Doing the Happy Dance! Whatever you want to call it. My painting orders are DONE!  D O N E Done!  I knew that this stable was coming, Had no idea what it was going to look like... A gift for a little girl that is into everything horses. Her Mom had asked if I would paint it. Sure! Then it arrived! And it is BIG! Really BIG! These pics were taken in JWS's garage. Which sort of turned into Santa's workshop for a few days. I should have stood by it for the pics. For scale. It is sitting on an eight foot table and I had to stand and reach to get to the top of the roof. They are going to varnish it and finish the inside. Her initials are EC, so I made it personalized on the door. And this sled that has stumped me for some reason... is now also DONE! Let the holidays begin!  JWS even managed to fix the stove enough that we could have two burners to limp through Christmas. I'll be making food tonight for the party on Saturday!

Double Parked Amish

Image
And when you are in a hurry!  Yesterday was like every other day this week. Hurry and get my REAL work done. Hopefully get out of work early. 1.Deliver signs and flyers to Smicksburg 2. Rake Leaves, 3.Supper, 4.  Paint and finish all the last minute projects for the Open House. 5. Drop into bed. At step one, this happened. Double Parked Amish. See that back fender? That's my car. See that horse. He or She (I didn't check) Has me parked in. Logan, my helper for the afternoon, who was also excited about getting on to Number 2 on the list, comes to inspect. "Yep, Gramma, we are stuck here." So, we talked about the horse, what big teeth it has and so on. Until the wagon that the horse was pulling was empty of fall mums. And we could get on with our day. Hey, not every day you get in an Amish traffic jam. Well, maybe not you. Around here it is a daily happening. I want to thank everyone who has been stopping by and commenting. I love all of your comments and love to...

Wagon Train

Image
This is what went through our backyard today. The Appalachian Wagon Train You can read more about it here I actually almost missed it.  I knew that it was going through today and just happened to run downstairs and heard it. Interesting to see. I really enjoyed this traffic issue. The Amish buggy waiting on the wagon train to pass. It actually pulled off to wait. And when the wagon train passed, the buggy fell in behind. This is the view from my backyard the other way. There is a horse show in the fairgrounds this weekend. It's like living next to a campground.  Wyatt is asleep, such a good little baby.  He never did anything this evening, except smile and eat and sleep. He never cries! I did get painting done and hit a really good yard sale....pics tomorrow. Right now I am hitting my bed. I know that baby is good, but I am tired anyway!
