Eggs and Dresses

Image
Finished the eggs this morning. A little ric-rac, a little lace, a little braid, antique it all with some stamp pad ink, of course, a little glitter and they are done. Not sure if the pine cones go with Easter, but for now they are there. And... I guess I am back on the dress kick. We are having another sewing night/weekend at our church, to make these little dresses, that will then be taken to Haiti in June. I thought I better refresh my memory of how to make them. I could not believe two years had gone by since we had made them. For directions Click here I am the DD again today. Today's project: Strip all beds completely. Load all laundry in the mothership. (that is what we call my MIL's car) Raid my change stash, or JWS's change stash. (which incidentally, Gracelyn found and now calls it her secret agent money that she loads her pockets with everytime she is here) Gather the laundry soap and a book and after dropping my MIL at dialysis I will be heading to the laundro...

Hang on..

There's a lot to tell. First of all, yesterday I was the DD. That is our short term for Dialysis Driver. Three hours to kill in Kittanning, PA. That's Ok, if it is once in awhile, but in the last year, I thought I had exhausted all the possibilities of entertainment available there. Until yesterday. This is Buttermilk Falls. I had not been there in years. As a matter of fact, I got lost three times trying to find it. When I did... I couldn't resist... But the water was so cold! Such a pretty place! I'll probably be back! I did manage to get a few more purses done. Packed away for the open house... But maybe I'll leave one out for a giveaway... And a towel that I had started months ago. Yesterday I found these at a local thrift shop. Less than $5 each. Promptly painted the frames last night, and this morning I hung them over our bed. See that? My name! They actually had my name on them, Literally! And I found the Kittanning Free Library, although because...

Are the eggs cooked?

Image
Really? That is how I am now answering that question.  Followed by; How disorganized do you think I am? It's been another one of those weeks. Dead battery in my car. SOMEONE hit the truck and dented in the side. Tax day. Still fighting the ants. Rain. Rain. Rain. Finally mowing the grass. Lots of t-shirts to print. Dialysis driving day. Battle with the common cold....or allergies. Missed doctor's appointment. Out of blood pressure medicine. Out of thyroid medicine. and still.... I managed to boil the eggs. Well I did two dozen and then JWS thinking I didn't have enough, did another two dozen. Point is, They were cooked and cooled in cartons in the fridge waiting to be dyed. So yesterday is my day to drive to dialysis. Shawnee has a doctor's appointment, I am going to drop my MIL at dialysis and go to Shawnee's and keep the girls until my Mom and Dad get there to take over and then I have to go back and pick up the dialysis patient and somewhere fit in some shopping ...

What a day!

If you read my previous post, I was perplexed as to what to make for lunch. I left it to what jumped out from behind the meat counter in the morning. It was burgers with some Italian mild sausage mixed in and lots of peppers and onions in sauce. I called them Fair Burgers. Pasta salad to go along with it. I am not much of a pasta salad girl, not really caring for Italian dressing much, but I made my own dressing and I really liked it. After I cleaned up the kitchen, I made a nice big pitcher of lime water. I love having this in the fridge, so refreshing and it makes a nice still life with these little lilies that jumped onto the belt at the check-out. So summery! I just know that summer and good health are just around the corner. Last night was the boys' sleepover and were they excited! They burst through the door naming everything that I had promised them we would do. Jumping and running and everywhere at once. Apparently their parents were not real happy that I had told them a...
