Dollhouse update

Image
It has been awhile since I have shown the updates on the Dollhouse Project. I received a very nice bag of goodies one day for it!  Thank you, Bonnie! A couch was one thing that I "needed". Living room, almost done. Don't you just love this frame?  It was a picture frame from Michaels and the mini map I found on some scrapbook paper. Perfect fit. The bathroom tile is ready for some grout. I need fixtures for that yet. I found a set at a hobby shop, wasn't ready to take that $plunge$. Besides, I don't think that they offer home remodeling loans on dollhouses. Kitchen is almost complete. It is a little messy, It had had some little fingers in there cooking. Looking for a stove for it. The light fixture in the bedroom. Two wood disks, a shank button with the shank removed and some beads. Mini canvas artwork on the walls, still looking for a bed! And how about the kitchen light...

Roofing

On a hot day like this!   My sister had the idea. Sandpaper as roofing shingles.   I couldn't wait to try it!   So, I assembled the tools. And got started.    Assorted weights of sandpaper from the Dollar Tree. A punch I had on hand and some glue.   I did switch to Tacky glue midway through the project.   Now, does anyone have any ideas for the siding? Bedroom,   minus the bed still working on that one.    And the kitchen, still need a stove and to organize the hutch. Kendall found all the dishes, the clock and the broom and was so excited, that I had to get the kitchen ready.   The light fixture is a jar lid and the top of a percolator all wrapped with some jute.     Friday, at work, I had a visitor that left a whole bag of doll house furniture for me!   I had the picture here and it disappeared!   More on ...

Was this "needed"?

Absolutely not! But I couldn't resist.   At an auction, (from the looks of the hoard, there have been more than one too many of those lately) Inexpensive! Doesn't justify it.   But, how much are those little girls going to like it when it is done? For now, it is cleaned out and ready for decorating.   This is definitely BEFORE!   I am sure there will be photos of DURING and IN PROGRESS.   Let's just hope that we make it to AFTER!
