Two Night's Finds

Last Saturday night we went to an antique mall. I found some cute handkerchiefs for some butterfly pillows that I am making for the girls. (More on that in another post.) I found this metal sconce also and for some reason it  just called me, you know like those things in the Pier One commercials,  sometimes things just say, "Take me home!" Really and truly,  too many things say that,  but you will see that as this post goes on.   Thursday night had us serving food at an estate auction and having way too much fun bidding on stuff and running up each other's bids. I did get this little crock pot, have been wanting one this size. My friend, Kim, bought tons of boxes of blankets and material. She washes then up and donates a lot of them to a women's shelter. I pulled this fabric about, loved the colors, it will get added to the stash. JWS got a little carried away on the glassware. Let's just say ...

700th Post!

You might think that it should be monumental, a milestone, some really deep words of wisdom.... a giveaway, but no... just more of the same. 700 posts of family happenings, crafting, thrift store shopping, a little decorating and a whole lot of nonsense. And so, in that true fashion I will hopefully have about 700 more over the next four years. And so, this one will avoid the family happenings because sometimes the kids' humor just cannot be shared until I have an anonymous blog. If anyone has a burning desire to know what that is... just leave me a comment and I could be prompted to tell you... privately. The top picture was a thrift shop find from a few weeks ago. Ok, I kind of forgot about it, it was in the back of my car and it just made it to the house last night. How can anyone pass up those train cases? Blogger was giving me fits yesterday as you would see in the next post. I could not load any pics, so These are my thrift shop finds from yesterday. All these rolls of fabric. Wonder what I am doing with them? you'll see... keep reading... Two full boxes of floss. $2 per box. Could not pass up this plate.  Great for serving, I love all these mismatched plates in these colors that I have found.
