A Wonderful Swap!

Image
Sheila over at Seasons of Thy Heart sent this wonderful collection for me. We agreed to swap the centerpiece for some painted items. And she sent that cute little Halloween arrangement along extra and the pumpkin for me to create something also. I love everything! I have her painted items ready to mail. I am a little behind from fair week. They are going out today though. Stop by her blog and link to her selling blog, she has wonderful items! Thanks Sheila! I love it all! A few days before the fair, I was frantically painting picnic tables. A yearly event. This one appeared for me! What a surprise! I painted it, it sat at the fair all week. And now it resides on my deck! All the kids names are on it. Wonder when I am going to have to sand it and add another? Someone put a sticker on it. Not a happy moment! My whole house smells like dust. I never thought I would be glad to see so much rain coming, but I sure will be glad to get rid of the dust smell. And the Earthquake. I did...

Busted!

Yesterday morning this was what was facing me.  I know that it was wrong to skip church to work, but there was no other way that I was going to get these done.  Every evening after work brings it's own set of chores and Saturday?  We'll we are not even going to go there other than to mention that the groceries that were missing at our house were never even bought until after 2:00 in the afternoon.  Dear hubby started for the grocery store at 9 and one interruption after another did not let him leave the house until after lunchtime.  So Sunday it is.  These are at the fairgrounds and they had to be painted before Wednesday.  I "borrow" dear hubby's IPOD, gather brushes, paints, water, coffee and an apple and off I go.   When I start the IPOD, what greets me but ABBA!  I love ABBA, but who would have thought that would be on dear hubby's IPOD?  Do his camo-wearing, gun toting, harley riding buddies know that he has ABBA  in his m...

The tables are DONE!!!!

What a relief and what a night's sleep! One big thing off my list. I don't mind projects at home or at work as much as ones that I have to go somewhere else to do. No bathroom, no kitchen, no music or tv, how can you work under such adverse conditions? Fifteen of them, FIFTEEN! I left last night with the thought in my mind that I would stay until they were finished. When a big storm blew up and the power flickered and went off, I thought it was over for the night, but the power returned and at 10:30 they were done, paints and tools hauled home and out of my car for the first time in two weeks. On Sunday we went to a corn roast/polka festival at a local farm market. They are customers of ours and we had made the shirts for the event. If you are in this area, you have to visit Yarnick's Farms near Indiana, PA. They have the BEST produce anywhere. I bought the sweetest cantaloupes that I have ever eaten! They even have a pick your own flower field. The flowers ar...

Swim Class...and more tables.

Image
Sandwiched between work yesterday, I managed to get to my granddaughter's swim class and what a treat that was! She loves the water and this is the only picture of her mouth closed. Most of the time she was squealing and kicking and splashing, Animation is the only word I could think of to describe her! She was in constant motion and could not enjoy it more! And more tables. I am hoping to finish these tonight. One BIG project checked off the list would be a real moral booster. Chickens, Maltese Cross, Peterbilt, Saw and Hammer, Auctioneer, all the special request items now for the tables. Not exactly my painting specialties. Doesn't anyone want a saltbox house and a willow tree?

Picnic Anyone?

These are the picnic tables that I am working on for our local fair coming up in two weeks. I have seven of them finished and eight more to go.
