  This happened on Saturday Night.   A modern ballet performed in Armstrong County featuring eleven artists from the county.  I am in the red in the middle.  I seriously dislike being in front of crowds and public speaking.   It was a challenge, but I was honored to be chosen and to sit alongside such amazing talent.  I have been singing, in my head, the song from A Chorus Line,  At the Ballet,  for days.          Back to reality, I am nursing a sore throat and spent much of yesterday resting in my chair and working  on catching up my temperature blanket.   My new years resolution already is to not take on any year long projects next year.  The year before I did a Block of the Month quilt and a sampler afghan.  Too much pressure and seriously over estimating how much time retirement would give me.             Sunday morning was spent decorating...

You will need: Lightweight cardboard Pen Scissors Thread Old Jeans 10 squares of contrasting material. Sewing Machine. Start with a circle pattern around 7 inches in diameter.  I used one of my small plates and it worked fine. Cut a cardboard pattern or just trace around the plate.   You will need 10 of these for the runner. Trace the circles on the wrong sides of the jeans and cut out. Hint:  I trace a bunch, cut them into smaller pieces and cut them out in the evenings in front of the TV. Now this part is a little tricky. You might need some of your high school geometry skills. You need a pattern for a square that fits inside of your circle and touches all four corners. I used my ruler for my rotary cutter and laid it down on my circle pattern and marked the circle pattern. My mom started these Santa blocks for a quilt twelve years ago and I have been doing the blanket stitching around all of the design for her. It has been quite an ongoing project. There is a Santa for every month of the year. When I started this 30 day project these were the last three and on my initial list, I listed them as one project. I am so glad that they are done! Now the unfinished project is hers....she has to put them together and quilt it. I am so glad that my part is done. The blanket is for Logan to keep here. Tyler has his own fleece blanket here and Logan did not have one yet so I made this last night for him. They are staying with us this Saturday night and I wanted this done for him. These would be 12 and 13. I still have not figured out exactly all the little aspects of posting these, the pics at the top I added later so that the embroidery could be seen on the blocks.
