Another Day, Another Project

Aren't these apple blossoms pretty? I love it when they bloom each year!    One of yesterday's projects was to get this bench put together in the hallway.   I love it there but want to change the pillow covers.  I have something else in mind.  Kamden and I did some yard work yesterday.  This is the best view EVER!  He couldn't wait until we got done to load up the tractor and take it for a ride.  He convinced me to take the training wheels off his bike yesterday.  Wow, did he take off and ride then!       Then we had an early supper  at the park  and he rode some more.  I am battling  a  killer cold right now.  Honestly,  I could barely walk the circle at the park.  Hoping today is better!

My weekend so far...

Well, it is going to be one of THOSE posts, so hang on! Keep in mind the 100+ degree heat that runs throughout this entire account. Also keep in mind that there are two small window air conditioners in this house that work really hard, but just don't keep up. So with that said.... of course I did get this rug finished. I had hoped to get these done... but... well there is still today. Twenty of these to do, and I have five done. So, much of the weekend has no pics, you will have to use your imagination. Friday night after work Wyatt arrived. Keep in mind that while we have called the two oldest boys a couple of Rotties, this little boy is wilder than they ever were. He is 18 months of constant motion. I am talking "batten down the hatches" wild. From 5:00pm until 8:00pm he emptied my spice cupboard and I was getting him out of that, I didn't notice that he had a small contain...

Another exhausting week!

Work on this, picnic tables finished, (sorry, forgot the camera for those) work around our house. Some of this. Surgery for Shelby, Lots of work preparing for the fair, A little bit of Saturday donation work. OK, the NO PARKING needs taken off and changed.  We are going to let them to that part.  This was our Saturday project. Very little of this and this... And now for next week, THIS! The trim on the garage needs sanded and painted.  I knew that I would not even start it until I had the paint sitting right here.  Hopefully the rain cooperates this week so that I can get it sanded and painted. Funny story of the week: Entitled.. How I Flushed Dora. Thursday found me with Kendall and Gracelyn.  Shelby was still healing from wisdom teeth removal and Shawnee was off to the Buffet concert.  I finally got both girls down for a nap and decided to put a coat of crackle paint on the bench that I was working on, set the timer for 20 minutes to add the paint and ...

One year ago this week.

I was laying in the hospital after having my hysterectomy. What a difference a year makes. We worked in the yard all last evening and it was so nice to be out there working and cleaning up. I think that I lost the entire summer last year. My yard never did shape up to it's usual form. Hopefully this year will be better. I finished Kendall's dress yesterday morning. The fabric in these dresses is from material that their mothers had dresses made out of when they were little. I found it in the Big Winter Fabric Clean Up, which by the way is still happening in my sewing room. And isn't this the greatest way to do yard work? Well at least for John is was. I was running the rakes and shovels and I am the one with the blister. I have been wanting these shrubs out for a long time. They were just overgrown and ugly and I thought it was time for a change. While the backhoe was still here, I thought it was the perfect time to get rid of them. Now what to put in there? ...
