59 Trips Around The Sun

Image
Sometimes the best days are not epic!  They are ordinary days.  Magical, ordinary days. Days spent doing exactly what you like to do even if no one else understands!  I had one of those yesterday.    Lots of little projects and  not allowing myself  to see  "what really needs done"  and letting it spoil the day!    I spray painted this chandelier.  Ready to hang today... more on that in another post.    Sprayed this mirror and finished cleaning and decorating the hallway.      Almost have the kitchen finished.  Logan visited me to show me his  hunting attire for  turkey hunting today.     Dinner napkin valance on the front door. I scrubbed the front porch at the camp,  tidied, spruced, decorated, and it is ready for Jenn's party tonight, almost... JWS cooked that awesome meal above and  ...

How It All Started

The Linus Project   http://projectlinus.org/       That has me rapidly crocheting since Shelby informed me she is doing that project with her students BEFORE Christmas.  Me, thinking of calm January nights in front of the fireplace...     Guess not! So, here I go.    And how it started?   With this little boy who is turning four today!   http://tolentreasures.blogspot.com/2010/11/update-thanks-and-prayers.html   There are chapters groups of  the Linus Project Everywhere!    Blankets can also be mailed!   A very worthy cause!

Happy Six Years, Little Boy

Image
Yesterday, Tyler turned six. He is our first grandchild, the one that we have learned on, loved on and made most of the mistakes on. The first. Four girls, our daughters, and then this little boy. He is active, He is wild, He is noisy, but he is loving, caring and always ready to go anywhere Grandma will take him. Anywhere. I say Let's he is ready before I get "Go" out of my mouth. We have been through bumped heads,  bruised knees, a Preschool Drop-out. Well actually, they ASKED that he not be brought back. and eventually... Preschool graduation, Kindergarten graduation, let's just say, the principal knows his name... and he knows what the inside of her office looks like. Many Halloweens, Many Christmas holidays! Easters and every holiday, Tyler You have brightened our life and made it a better place. And then today. You were talking to a friend. You were trying to be cool. and Grandma asked you to go someplace with her... and you said "NO...

Another trip around the sun.

Today was my birthday. Fifty three years in, life is not getting any calmer. Why? Today was also my driving day for dialysis...and my day to watch Kendall.  Not sure how that overlapping was going to work, but no time like the present to try it.   Kendall was not sure about riding in Nana's car.  I debated.  Would it be easier to convince the two year old to ride in Nana's car? or would it be easier to convince Nana to ride in my car?  What a dilemma.  Pros and Cons.   The two year old can't talk a lot, the 70 + year old has no problem voicing her opinion..repeatedly.  On the other hand, the twenty five mile trip with the two year old screaming might be just as bad as the 70+ year old "opinons".   What to do, what to do? I strapped in the car seat and managed to bend the stiff as a board, screaming two year old into the seat.  Such decisions in life.  The two year old will forget, the 70+ year old has a good me...

300th post!

Who would have ever thought? Boy, do I talk a lot ! Nothing monumental to tell, to mark the occasion, just the same old blah, blah, blah that I normally do, read more by family and friends than anything. Thanks for reading, thanks for your comments (I love comments), thanks for giving me an ear to vent, to tell, to brag about my grandchildren, to show my "creations" and to air the day to day stories! A late birthday present from the Disney travelers. Shawnee stitched this pillow for me. I had seen this on a plaque somewhere and have always wanted it somewhere in my house. It will sit in my recliner. I love it! And for the weekend. No, this is not me, but here are my weekend plans. I will be walking my first 5K on Saturday. After John finished the half marathon on Sunday, we all thought is was over, the training, the talking, the PREACHING! Then he starts searching for the next run. I know he was, I know how to look at the history in the computer. Realizing that t...

Who knew?

Image
Four years ago tonight we were walking out of the hospital after meeting our first grandchild! Who knew what our life would become? We rode motorcycles, our house was decorated and clean, our yard was nice, mowed and trimmed and flowers were blooming...what a cute little addition to this life this little boy was going to be. How fun after four girls! And then THIS happened! And this! Happy Fourth Birthday, Tyler! Our cups run over with the blessings and joy that you have given us! We could not be happier with the chaos!
