And the Curtains!

Image
Way back here   http://tolentreasures.blogspot.com/2014/01/last-pics-until-curtains.html   I promised no more pics until the curtains.   Well, they are here!  I knew that they were shipped, I kept pestering the UPS man (as if he has any power) and yesterday he manages to bring in all the packages for the shop and tells me that once again my package is not here. Lower lip out, shoulders down, I walk away. Then he brings them in! I must say, I was excited! My sister made them for me and shipped them from Florida. She does an awesome job on curtains! Piping and little weights, they are so nice! But then I realized... I had no cafĂ© rods! So before they could even be hung I had to run to town to get rods!  I think that they are just the perfect finishing touch! Now if I could just find those last three baskets that I need for the closet shelf.... but they are being quite elusive,...

What a month!

See this face? That about sums up January for me! This is Garren's excited face.  Mine looks the same, but maybe not for the same emotion.   I always look forward to January. Slow at work, lots of days to come home early. Lots of big projects to complete. Well, let's just say, January didn't quite shape up that way.    I had high hopes of getting lots of stockings finished for next year, some painting orders done, and some rest.   Instead... I got a lot of these done.   Quick and easy. Instant gratification. Not a whole lot of thought.   Projects anyway. Welcomed this new little boy.   Did a little thrift shopping. Spent some quality time with Kendall   So did Papaw. A little more thrift shopping....   And even managed to make curtains for Kendall's room. (Well, Mom made the pinwheels, I just sewed them together)   All in all...

Dyed yarn

We had our knitting Christmas party last night. Now there are only three of us that knit together, but Carol planned it and she has wonderful gifts of handspun yarn for us that we dyed last night. This is mine and I love it. I can't wait to start a scarf with it. Wonder if hubby will hold it tonight so that I can wrap it in a ball? Who can hate ironing when you have such a fresh clean cover on the ironing board. One of my projects for yesterday. Mine was a terrible mess. Actually it sort of looked real primitive with it's burns and water stains. And this rug. I can't tell you why it is so crooked, must not have been paying attention. Oh well, it is more for function than beauty. It is going in our bathroom and no one but us really goes there. So nice to step out of the shower on nice soft t-shirts. Curtains! My sewing room finally has curtains! It has only been a year since I redid that room and never got the curtains made. Thanks KIM, for the fabric. Ki...
