A Bulk Bag of Goodies

Image
Another visit to  Pittsburgh Center for Creative Reuse and some "can't live without"  goodies!   I love the bulk section,  things you did not even know you needed!  Like all those little bottles of paint. And... Coasters! I have been buying dowel rods, these were a bargain thrown in the bag!  Some seashells for VBS decor, and some gold bars for the treasure chest!  Vintage dishtowels. Zinc lids, and of course, Golf Balls!   Always treasures to be found!  If you are in the Pittsburgh Area, it is worth the visit!  http://pccr.org/

What I Bought, What He Bought

Image
My purchases were mostly at Pittsburgh Center for Creative ReUse. I love that place, although, patient as JWS is, I did sense a certain uneasiness and readiness to bolt out of there as soon as I gave the word. I could stay there for hours. So, I bought tiles, and more tiles,   and lots of letters. At The Strip District, I also bought some ginger. Homemade ginger ale for Easter dinner! Can't wait! JWS bought a fish. And at PCCR he bought some golf balls for the boys. 128 golf balls, to be exact, for $5. (126 of them will turn into projectile objects under the mower blades in a mere two months or so.) He also bought a small jar of caviar. Don't these two things resemble one another? I assure you, I did not eat either one! What I did eat was Pho soup. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pho It was good, but I liked the spring rolls and the split rice dish better. All this was at Tram's Vietnamese Re...

Full of Links

My Knit the Bridge project is finally done! JWS and I are heading to Pittsburgh today. Dropping this off at Pittsburgh Center for Creative ReUse is on our list for the day. So is the Gold Medal Popcorn Company for an open house and fair food. and JWS wants to eat Pho which I always thought the word would look like FA (glad I saw this prior to perusing the menu) at Pho Minh Of course there will be a stop at Construction Junction No trip to Pittsburgh is complete without a slide through there to check if there is anything I can't live without. And we will see where the rest of the day leads us. It is mini-day-vacation of sorts. I have this order done! For the pattern, look here or here   No link here, I just can't believe that after all these years with no house plants, I finally have one and it is blooming. Who would have thought?   Trying to work on my selling blog. This stuff is pili...

Cork Ceiling

Image
First of all, I am going to apologize for these pictures right up front. I am not sure why, but they are not that good. Please bear with me, I am sorry for all blurry, grainy, fuzzy pics! This brainstorm started on the day I had to take my printer to Pittsburgh. I stopped at the Pittsburgh Center for Creative Reuse I cannot babble on about how much I love that place! I saw the bassinet filled with wine corks, so many possibilities, however, it takes my mind a little while to process those possibilities. Somewhere about Fox Chapel, where Route 28 gets a little hairy and lanes are switching and I should have been paying more attention it came to me! This ceiling! Clearly those corks would be perfect here. Clearly! I could cut them in half! I could hot glue! It would look so cool! Why is that tractor trailer honking it's horn at me? I really need to pay more attention when I drive. OK folks, I am just goi...
