A little glimpse into how my mind works. It can be a scary place. I am sure most of you are the same way, so you should understand. Time and Day; 9:30 Saturday morning. Place: Church Kitchen Activity: Making coffee for Ladies Bible Study Scenario: The first pot of coffee does not work. Honestly, I make coffee every day, but something about the coffee pot, the water..whatever, it does not work and it takes FOREVER to make it so while I am waiting for the second pot, I look over and see these crocheted butterflies on the refrigerator. In the trance of staring and thinking of what all I am going to do with my day later. Bad Habit, I know, but, I had a sick husband, I had to get groceries, meet with a customer, make some deliveries, print a shirt for a customer, do a little cleaning, other misc. odds and ends, all before the boys arrived for a sleepover. My very first SOCK! When I started to try to learn to knit at the first of the year, I never would have thought I would have made it to socks this fast. I am racing on to the match for it now! When I was in the Dominican in January we had to go to Santo Domingo one day and made a brief stop in the Colonial Zone. It is a fun place of gift shops and so much history. I found these amber bead/drops in a little gift shop and brought them home with the idea of making gifts with them. This is the first one that I have finished. This scarf was found in the attic partially finished, finished it up yesterday and it is going in the donation bin. Sure hope that I find a home for these before next winter. This was an experiment in penny rugs. I wondered how ovals would work instead of circles. It is my mug rug now. Not a hard project to finish, this had been painted and in the stash for over a year. Ok, it is only a dishcloth, but it was started! and now finished. These are the most fun things to work on right now, they are like instant gratification, but for now they are going to be put aside to get some of these other items finished, (well maybe just ONE more...) I wanted to try these little purses that I found the pattern for online. I have so many scraps of this fun fur yarn and thought that these would make cute little purses, now to find some little girls that would like them. This sweater has been laying in my sewing room waiting for inspiration. I had folded and pinned it so many times trying to figure out how to make it into a purse/tote bag. The other night a friend of mine picked it up and folded it just so and there it was! A way I had not even thought of.....how nice fresh eyes are on a project! Thanks Carol! And this is what I made with it. She suggested using the bottom of the sweater as the top of the bag. I cut the holes for the handles and blanket stitch...
