99th post!

I can't believe that I am at my 99th post already. Watch for tomorrow's post and I'll start a giveaway of some type. I have an idea....we'll have to wait and see how that works. I would like to thank everyone for their comments of support, thoughts and prayers for my recovery. It is so nice to hear from each of you and I really appreciate you keeping me and my family in your thoughts and prayers. I am feeling better every day but it is much slower than I expected that it would be. This really has me feeling every bit of my age....and then some. It has been over 24 hours since I took any pain medication though and for that I am thankful. Tomorrow I go back to the doctor to get the staples out. The car ride could be a mixed blessing though. These are some to the items that I have been working on. They all need blocked, but the iron and ironing board are upstairs so that will have to wait. Shawnee and the princess visited this AM for a little while and she p...

More finished projects and the SOCK!

My very first SOCK! When I started to try to learn to knit at the first of the year, I never would have thought I would have made it to socks this fast. I am racing on to the match for it now! When I was in the Dominican in January we had to go to Santo Domingo one day and made a brief stop in the Colonial Zone. It is a fun place of gift shops and so much history. I found these amber bead/drops in a little gift shop and brought them home with the idea of making gifts with them. This is the first one that I have finished. This scarf was found in the attic partially finished, finished it up yesterday and it is going in the donation bin. Sure hope that I find a home for these before next winter. This was an experiment in penny rugs. I wondered how ovals would work instead of circles. It is my mug rug now. Not a hard project to finish, this had been painted and in the stash for over a year. I finally just dug it out and put the wire on it and put it on the front door of my new...

Ok, so I am addicted!

First of all, here is the princess in her sweater, it did not fit quite right, but I learned so much making it. Poor little thing, she is sick with a cold right now and the little boys are both sick also. Hope that all didn't happen at Grammie's house last Saturday night? I am totally, over the top, addicted to knitting! I found this book at the library and am reading it, nothing like adding a little knitting to your devotion time in the AM! Then I found this self-help for knitter's book in the craft section at the library...very helpful although is does not show you how to knit and run the sweeper or fold laundry. Maybe I should write that book....as soon as I figure out how to do it. This is my new item to feed the addiction, SOCKS!...or as in this case, SOCK! This has been another learning experience and while I have been working on it I am seeing striped socks and cable socks (not that I have a clue how to make a cable stitch) baby socks and hunting socks for the...
