Forget that Stupid Phil

Image
Punxsutawney Phil, that is... when this is what we see on the way to church, I know that spring is right around the corner. Maple Syrup time! In Amish Country. A little farther on there were some not so modern Amish using the old buckets with lids. But, high heels and mud and some fencing kept me from getting close enough to get those pics. So while there is no green in the picture, those bright shiny silver bags always let me know spring in on the way! So in honor of that. I am working on this bunny! Still some work to be done I just laid the wood pieces on it for a pic. And this little sheep cabinet for my daughter. And some little recipe clips. Yesterday afternoon was so nice, so my morning walking friend and I decided to go on an afternoon daylight walk, that almost turned into a night time walk when we ventured out a little too far. I was really wishing that I had my camera. Pretty water flowing down over the hills in mini waterfalls, Deer in the meadow across a creek, Mos...

An Award and Saturday Projects

First of all, Thank-you Tricia at Hillcrest Home Prims For tagging me with this award. But, in my case, it may be Be Careful What You Ask For So here goes, Seven Random Things That Many of You Don't Know About Me The YOU being Blog Friends. Unfortunately, for my family and friends, this will just be a rehash of mishaps, misfortune, and the occasional embarrassment. Ready? 1. When I was a teenager, I worked as a Carney. That would be carnival, food booth, french fries, mushrooms, smelly Carney person.  My Dad thought it would be a good experience. My mother had a ceremonial burning of my clothes at the end of summer. My younger sister was never allowed to "experience" that. 2.  Moving right up through the years, I had a short career as a demolition derby driver. OK, Two demos, but I still have this burning desire to do it again! 3. I once, at a very desperate point in my life, bought a house, in a bar, over a beer, from a guy that was going to prison, for less than most of...

Just Saying

Well to start with, Is Google not allowing pictures? I can't load them to here, or not to Picasa either, Oh well. Today was a thrifting day. I had to be the Dialysis Driver today on short notice with no plans, I went thrifting. and oh, the things I found. But that will have to wait. A couple of life observations this week. First of all, I always say that I will never have a Jesus Loves Me...or You license plate on my car. Reason why?  One time at work a person pulled into our yard and spun and tore up the yard and left and didn't apologize or offer to fix it. He had a Jesus Loves You license plate. You should not mention Jesus if you are going to do things like that. And I know MY driving ski...

And I think I failed. Ready for this? First of all, this could all be a little indelicate, and just to assure you, there will be no pics. And Advice, Comments and even Reprimands are perfectly welcome at the end. Just hear me out. For years I have had these "bumps" for lack of a better word randomly appear of my face. They are sort of like a hive, I don't feel them right away. Usually one of my co-workers, wait usually JWS or his mother look at me and say, "What in the world is growing on your face?" Really. REALLY? Then they itch, then they flatten out and wrinkle and scale away. Not that fast obviously, that is a week long process of Neosporin, Moisturizer, Some scrub to remove the scaling and lots of Cover Girl. Lately, I have been getting them more and more. I blamed it on being out in the cold every morning. And then, about a month ago they got worse. Slathering my face alternately with Neosporin and Hydro cortisone. I puzzled, What could be causing this? I...
