Or otherwise known as the  Ocala Coffee Debacle.   Day 1.  I am at my sisters I can't find the coffee.    I know the Miss Manners rule of being a house guest and not getting up before the host.   But I can't follow it!    I just wake up too early.  So I wait for the coffee.   Day two.     I make the coffee. Day three .    I make the coffee....a little too strong  Day four.    I make the coffee.    I think to myself at 5:30am  (an unusually late morning for me)  that the coffee does not smell good.    Apparently someone decided  to run vinegar through the coffee pot.   I thought someone was being nice and put the water in for me....-it was vinegar!   That is when I found  this.    Tasty-O's and some awesome fresh coffee!    Day 5. ...

Silver Springs

Image
Yesterday, we went to Silver Springs.    Memories of a trip there as children  came flooding back to my sister and I.    Mom still swears we were never there. We are agreeing to disagree.   Gracelyn and Garren loved the glass bottom boat ride.    The grounds were really nice for the adults! Except for this!! Waiting in line for the boats.    The visit with the kids was so nice.   Silver Springs,  then back to my sister's house for a cook out.    Gracelyn thoroughly enjoyed the orange trees  and then got her lesson on juice making from Uncle Ron!

Find of the Day

Image
We found this great little shop today And amazing enough even a rental car manage to slide to a stop! Just a few orange blossoms left on the trees, but still enough for an amazing aroma!   Mom and I arrived in Florida last night and with the rental car fiasco, didn't get on our way to Ocala until 9:30!   It was 11:00 when we got to my sisters and thanks to the GPS, we had not problems!

CAC, SMH and a little Painting

Lately, I have been a little Crazy About Crochet. Trying some new things, and  digging out some old patterns. These little cuties are what spurred it on. Bon-Bons Non-Fattening. And some really old patterns and  crochet cotton, passed on to me from my Aunt's stash.  Continued work on the bedspreads. And the start of another pot holder.   Those things take time!    My aunt and grandmother made them all the time. I never truly appreciated the time involved!  And now for the  SMH Shaking My Head.  We had a young woman call the shop for prices on t-shirts.  We quoted her our standard price for 12 shirts.  $7.50 each.  Yesterday, we receive an email from her.  I try to read emails in the tone that they were sent.  This one sounded slightly sarcastic/accusatory. However, I am really just leaning toward DUMB.. She informed us that she found t...

Owls, Grasshopppers, Upholstery and Some Crocheting

Image
Edging a table runner, Upholstering some chairs,  thank goodness  JWS came to the rescue  and  helped me finish them!  One side of a mailbox,  have the other to do yet.  Daily checks on the signs of spring.  A painting class. A little bit of sewing. A craft class at Michaels with Gracelyn.  Lots of class prepwork. Some spring owls.  Still working on this bedspread.  Kendall, three days a week!  And a nursery painted.  And that's where my weeks are going!

Drapery Lining Pennant Tutorial

Image
First of all, I bought this drapery lining thinking it was the Roclon product that everyone is painting on.   It was not.  So it was tossed into the stash.   In the archeological dig that I am calling Painting My Way Out Of My Paint Room , I unearthed it. In the middle of the night, it came to me... Pennants!   So here is what I did. Made a template.    Vinyl flooring makes the greatest patterns!   You can choose what size you make, it's pretty simple fourth grade geometry. Make sure that you make that little area on the top to fold over. Trace them onto the fabric. Now I know that I could have utilized this better by making them go both ways. But honestly, I have lots and it was cheap. You can see that I started alternating them and then thought, "why?" Paint them your choice of colors, painting right over the lines.   Because really, staying in the...
