The Start of the Florida Trip

Image
It was time to escape the snow. I know that I had enough. I always hope when i get home that its almost over. We pulled out after church on Friday night  drove to Clarksburg, West Virginia.  Saturday brought us  Skeeter’s Hot Dogs in Wytheville, Virginia, for lunch and Sunday’s Soul Food in Walterboro, South Carolina for supper.  Spent the night in Kingsland, Georgia.    Sunday was spend wandering around Ameila Island.  Traveled down A1A and rode this ferry across the St. Johns River. Found this amazing shop!   The art and creativity of the vendors was amazing!  Then we went to supper at Safe Harbor Seafood.   The line was so long that we opted for takeout and a tailgate picnic along the river.      Anyone who knows me, knows I am not a huge bird fan and JWS knows this well.    So Why?  Why would he choose to feed the rest of the seagulls his French fries right over ...

Wacky Wednesday

Leaving for vacation there is always so much to do. Sometimes I wonder why we even go, but a huge recharge is greatly needed this time of year. So, I make lists, and try my best to get them finished. Some got done, some didn't, but today we leave. As a side note, the ground is covered with snow here this morning and that makes it very easy to leave! Florida Bound. But first, the highlights of the last couple of days! Prescriptions filled, check. sounds as though we are on top of this until... the bottle flip challenge. Really anything will do and every morning, Logan finds something in my kitchen to bottle flip. I thought my blood pressure pills looked harmless, I mean way better than some of the glass bottles I have grabbed from him mid flip. Until it hit the ceiling knocked down the artfully arranged corks I have on that ceiling and broke all of the chalky pills inside. Suppose anyone will understand when I say ...

Vacation

Wow, vacation was over a month ago. Where did that time go? A relaxing week at the beach. Just JWS and I. Of course we had some great dinners with friends and family! Picking sand dollars in the morning, coffee in hand looking at amazing sunrises. Some (maybe too much) great food! A satellite launch. See that speck of light in the middle? Great music in the evenings. And of course, some flea marketing! Ahhhh, I want to go back!

New Orleans...Day one

How do you get ready for a trip? We are not normally early packing people. So it was not a surprise to find us delivering orders at 6:00 on Tuesday night, nothing packed and we had to leave the house at 3:30 AM on Wednesday. Nine and one half hours to wash a few things, pack and get a little sleep before we left was plenty. I even thought I had time to throw a few highlights in my hair. The thing that was not planned was a fluoride pill up the nose of a screaming four year old. Having experienced a button up the nose of his aunt when she was three years old, I dumped my "packed" purse, grabbed the visine , jumped in the car and flew to Jenn's house. By the time I got there he had blew it out and all that was left was to "play" for a little bit and leave. By the way, eye drops up the nose will shrink that capillaries and cause the item to loosen up. Just in case..... Yesterday's day of travel continued to confirm Murphy's Law for me. Although I am not a ...
