Tolentreasures

Well, I finally finished it!  What a job!  Too much looking at the same color over and over again and again! I would literally fall asleep with them in my hands. Now to get a new centerpiece for the table. But what? Some pics of pennies around the house. Some bright Kool-Aid dyed pennies. FYI, Kool-Aid Dye really fades! A pink and brown one with a hand-painted cigar box on top. And experiment with ovals. The first kit, bought by my Mom. Another kit. My favorites, the mismatched raggy ones. And the first circle one that I ever tried, Before I realized to use the freezer paper. Thanks for coming along on the tour! It is really, really cold here and really windy. Let me start by saying, "I hate bats!" Scared to death of them. Give me any other critter in the house. Mice, Rats, Snakes, Spiders, Squirrels, Chipmunks. Many of which I have experienced, but we won't go there. Nothing freaks me out more than a bat. Hummingbirds are a close second. Just weird. I know. So the other morning when JWS comes out of the basement, which looks like a recent episode of Hoarders, to gently inform me that we have a bat in the basement. I varnish, do laundry and make coffee in the basement. I know, the coffee is weird also.  Another story. But needless to say, none of the above have happened in the last three days. As I sit here now, I am waiting for JWS to go down and make the coffee. I think he is toying with me. There's more to the story. Later. Did a little painting (above) the other day. I'll get to that in a minute... But first, These are some things that I have been working on. See that first one up in the left hand corner? Well I really didn't like that head on that one, so the rest sort of got beheaded. Sure like them better that way. Tried this, not sure if I like it. And these stars.  JWS came home to find them pinned to a board drying on the kitchen counter. His comment? "It's not like you don't have enough areas to craft in this house, is this what it had come to? You now take over the kitchen counter?" Just short of the frustration he had when he found them drying on a baker rack on top of the wood burner. And now on to the topic of discussion.  Four or five years ago, I asked JWS to stop and get me curling ribbon while he was in town. Red Curling Ribbon. And two more items off my thirty day list. Twenty-one and Twenty-two Ok, my thirty projects in thirty days ends tomorrow. Obviously, this is not a success story. But still, there are twenty-two items done. The glass is half full! Finished these last two yesterday. Pressed, Steamed and ready to go. These were not hard, just time consuming. Why didn't I make them last January? Found these little beads for the tree trunks. And these tiny little jingle bells. And a bigger jingle bell at the hanger. Plastic rings, crocheted around for the hangers. All made out of the "Stash" It pays to be a hoarder. It pays to be a hoarder. It pays to be a hoarder. C'mon, sing it with me people!

1. Painting orders finished. 2. Who cares if the firewood bin goes empty? 3. Food from the microwave all weekend. 4. No one cares if there are dirty dishes in the sink. (JWS is a  little obsessive over the sink) 5. More orders finished. 6. Full possession of the remotes. 7. Messy sewing area and who cares? 8.  All these projects spread all over the living room floor. 9. Full possession of the laptop. and Number 10... Full possession of the king size bed!!! I really will be glad for him to get home, but it is almost a mini-vacation for me! Oh and one last item. Anyone remember the roaster lid that I painted? Well it seems as though the person that brought it to me, doesn't want it. Does anyone else?  I will swap something for it!  Let me know!

Sunday morning held quite the shock for me. I had been afraid to get on the scale. Fair week, Fair food, Not much walking. But really, how bad could it be? I knew that my jeans were a little more snug, So I braved it. I stepped up, I sucked in. I held my breath. Does breath really weigh anything? I gained SIX pounds!!!! I expected TWO! but SIX WHOLE POUNDS!!! How did this happen. All day I reasoned, I pondered, I lamented. I didn't think I ate that much fair food. So, I didn't eat much at the church picnic. I drank lots of water. I snacked on peppers and tomatoes. I vowed to walk run exercise. I think I drove JWS a little crazier. He gave me all the reasoning. 50's Menopause. "You still look great, honey." I was inconsolable, How could I walk this much since April and gain six pounds? Then this morning... I noticed as I took my deep breath to prepare for my daily weigh-ins in my quest to lose this 6 pounds... and maybe the five that I initially wanted to lose in...

Along with some prep work yesterday, the biggest and the smallest of the orders were the ones that I decided to finish first. A little more decorating at the church today and a weekend with Gracelyn! The princess should be arriving around 9 AM. Girls weekend! Woohoo!

I did not want to put the mess at the top of this post because I didn't want to scare anyone away with that little thumbnail coming up on other blogs, so I am starting with these little ornaments that were finished during last night's insomnia.  Insomnia brought on by too much to do before I leave on a short trip this week AND a cup of coffee that smelled so good at 9:00 on a nice, cool deck.  Why didn't I just sniff it?  I really didn't need to drink it also. And this little mouse was a prototype for more.  I have them all cut-out, one more cup of coffee this evening and I would have them all done tomorrow...NOT! And then this.  Wasn't this place supposed to start improving once we got it?   The demolition is creating more of an eyesore than I would have ever anticipated.  But good news!  The siding is in and as soon as this porch is rebuilt and a couple of windows replaced, we are ready to go! that I had in my last blog post on Monday afternoon. Shortly after that, I got myself dressed and went to the drugstore for my meds and somewhere around halfway through the trip home, it hit me worse! The doc in the ER had told me that I had not hit the bottom of this disease yet. She said that Monday and Tuesday would be worse. She told me that she had it and that if it ran the same way, I had not hit bottom yet. I couldn't begin to imagine that she was right, but she was. Monday was terrible, Tuesday was worse. Finally on Wednesday, I managed to make it to work for an hour in the morning and two hours in the afternoon. Yesterday, I managed to work an entire day again, my first full day of work in two weeks. Unbelievable. Enough whining, I am hopefully on the mend now. I did manage to finish a few things in my rare moments of clarity. This scarf only needed the fringe on it.
