Finds of the Day

Image
Today was the day to deliver the Linus Project Blankets that Shelby's class made   add a little more stock to the shelves at Diamond Antiques   and a visit to Pittsburgh Center for Creative Reuse.   A few surprises along the way!   The first, a ride along friend which made the day much more fun! and second white out conditions that were a little scary.   So, what did I find? The samples above which I think would look cool strung and hung in the yard somewhere.    A few more laminate samples in some different sizes. Some blanks for my dad and his carving friends.   Some letters to add to the collection. Cute little clothespins. Game pieces. Seashells and gems for VBS decorating. Leather samples for collages. And about 20 of these!  These were at Construction Junction for 15 cents each.   They will be part of a room remodel ...

My Knit the Bridge project is finally done! JWS and I are heading to Pittsburgh today. Dropping this off at Pittsburgh Center for Creative ReUse is on our list for the day. So is the Gold Medal Popcorn Company for an open house and fair food. and JWS wants to eat Pho which I always thought the word would look like FA (glad I saw this prior to perusing the menu) at Pho Minh Of course there will be a stop at Construction Junction No trip to Pittsburgh is complete without a slide through there to check if there is anything I can't live without. And we will see where the rest of the day leads us. It is mini-day-vacation of sorts. I have this order done! Seasoning

Image
As decorative painters, we used to have a saying, "The wood has to season." That was the excuse for buying wood when we already had quite a bit. It was the excuse for not painting some wood. It was really more like, "I can't figure out what to paint on that." This cupboard door has been in the basement stash/hoard for quite awhile. Four years actually. I remember when and where I had to have it. Construction Junction Shelby was with me and pregnant. Kendall is over three now. It "seasoned" well. It was ready!

And my clothes are still not clean, and I still have not fixed that zipper in my skirt And of course, I have not packed yet. This is the kitchen floor in the house that we are working on next door. You may remember that saga....you may not. Anyway, the carpet is coming for the living room on Thursday. The floor needed laid. And this is me. JWS said that I need to show these pics. Jenn said I would not post them when I was looking this bad. Did she mean that with love? We called this floor... Freestyling. I had a vision. The tile was inexpensive. Bought at one of my favorite shops. Construction Junction See those gray roots. My body is feeling the pain of 4 hours in this contortionist position. I love to lay tile...just wished I would have figured that out about 20...I mean 30+ years ago. Like the hairdo? And yes, I am a slob...that was the point that JWS was making with the pictures to begin with. To be fair, these ARE my tiling pants and some of that mess is from previous j...
