Pillow ticking stars, number 19

These are number 19 in my 30 projects in 30 days marathon that I started with my sister. Hard to believe I am over halfway there. I did not really think that I could do this, but thanks to the fact that I have not really cleaned house and I am down to my least favorite underwear and socks because I have not done my laundry, I am persevering! I did not like making these so I will probably not be making any more of them. They are going to be given to my daughters. We are having craft night tonight at Shawnee's house.

Oh, these are cute. I made little stuffed fabric stars like these before and I didn't like doing them either. In fact, I didn't like the way they turned out and I stuck them somewhere. Where did I put those, come to think of it?!

Thanks for the offer on the mat and cutters. I have both on my wishlist, and as soon as I get a little more money saved, I'm heading to JoAnn's to buy both.

Some of you asked for this. This is literally one of the EASIEST, most appreciated projects that I have ever made. I timed myself while I made this one and it was finished in under 1/2 hour and that included refilling bobbins, taking pictures, and searching the button box for two matching buttons. They are even faster if 1.) you don't do all of the above and 2.) you make them on an assembly line. Step 1. Cut a piece of fabric for the straps 4 inches wide by 14 or so inches long. If you have a very lightweight fabric, you can double it or use press on interfacing to back it. Step 2. Cut two coordinating rectangles approximately 12 to 15 inches by 15 to 18 inches. This is very loose, you can use vary the size of them. Pin those together on the bottom and halfway up the sides. Step 3. Press the 4 inch rectangle in half lengthwise with wrong sides together and sew around raw edges, then zig - zag the edge. If the fabric frays really bad, you can go over it again. Step 4

Sharpie Markers and Alcohol = Really Quick Art

What a fun, creative process!  Grab all those sharpies that are hidden in your desk drawer. Find that bottle of rubbing alcohol. (Vodka or hand  sanitize might work, you can always experiment) Dig out a canvas,  or go buy some,  nothing like having some blank canvases hanging around.  Draw some wild and crazy lines. Fast and not a lot of planning work best.  Hit it all with some alcohol.  Allow it to move and blend.  I use a brush for the alcohol,  You could use a spray bottle or eye dropper,  I just want a little more control on mine.  And re-outline with a black sharpie!   That's it!  Fast Art!  I will be teaching this next Friday along with two other  fun projects in Mayville, New York.  For more info go to: https://www.facebook.com/ARTRetreatatthelake
