Why Women Nag

Before you think I have some major revelation
into
nagging,
I am just telling you one incident.

I have had lots,
but this one could have had some scary consequences.

My MIL has been wanting new carpet for her bathroom.
She has been "wanting" it for awhile.
Hers was "powdery."
Eww.

Having lived in a house where the carpet was burned
in the living room
from where the previous owner
had started his Harley,
(another story, another time )
I wasn't totally sympathetic
to
"powdery."
Plus, it's a tiny little bathroom
and
I could not imagine what they would charge to
come out here in the sticks
to do a tiny, little,
powdery
bathroom.

So,
JWS and I tried to talk her into tile.
We lay tile,
we have all the tools,
and
furthermore....
"Powdery"
can be easily cleaned off of tiles.

You would have thought that we suggested
making the floor
a
bed of nails
or
hot coals
or
broken glass.

So,
she
"nagged."
There is no other way to describe it.
I have done it myself,
just not for
"powdery"
carpet.

Mine has been saved for the big ones...
The brakes on my car are spongy....
The toilet is not flushing right..
and
There is a terrible smell in the basement...

You  know,
the big ones.

So,
she finally called the carpet people
and
yesterday they came out and ripped up the carpet.
She was at dialysis.
The carpet guy came to the shop
fifteen minutes later.
The floor around the commode was bad
and he could not lay the carpet.
He left and
Jenn and I raced up to see the issue
and
WOW.

The commode was ready to drop through the floor!
Seriously,
there was a huge hole the whole way around the commode.
We shook it and it moved a good
4 - 5 inches.

She was one small little case of irregularity
away
from
total disaster!

So, while it is good that she nagged about the carpet...
did she not think
a
Rocking Toilet
was
worth
mentioning?

I got two special orders done last night.
Sure love getting things off the list.
Can't show them
until the people get them.
They are personalized.

Hehe...thanks for chuckle...although I am sure it is no laughing matter. I have found though, that sometimes nagging ends up uncovering hidden problems..and that is certainly the case here!
Goodness...that was one bad situation - nagging is sometimes a 'good thing'...lol

Oh my Goodness! I don't mean to laugh, but that was quite the story.
Have a wonderful day!

Gee's you make me laugh Cathy! It reminds me of when I went to my husband's house for the first time when we were dating. I needed to use the bathroom, and he failed to tell me the toilet wasn't fastened down. Scared me to death when I sat down and almost went flying along with the toilet! Information you would like to know BEFORE using the bathroom!
