Valentine Box and Play-Doh Flowers

This little girl showed up last night
for a
sleepover
and
to make her
Valentine Box.

What fun we had,
cutting, glueing and pasting.
Digging through the hoard of stuff
that, thank goodness,
Grandma keeps.

To find the perfect item
and to place it in the
perfect place!

I think it is very creative
and
all her own!
Then it was off to
crayons
and
markers
and
colored pencils
and
Play-Doh.
My favorite.

This little girl was impressed with
Play-Doh flowers.

Ok,
here is an age question.
Does anyone remember
making these with
white bread and white glue
and
food coloring
on
toothpicks
and
varnishing them with
clear nail polish?

I've made quite a few playdough roses in my time, but never made them out of bread and glue! Haha! Looks like you and your granddaughter had a splendid time!

Cute box, I wish her many Valentines inside.
Never made the flowers. Wasn't a fan of play dough.

Grandma, you must have had such a fun time with that sweet little girl. Jealous....no "pink" around our house ;-)
I remember as when I was in grade school how I always looked forward to creating and receiving Valentines, we always had a party in our class with home made treats and handed out our special cards to our friends. Such an innocent time in our lives. I love to find old/retro/vintage images from those years.
Such a cutie Gracelyn is!

Love it! I showed the pictures to Darbee Rae also. She loved seeing her box. She loved it. Great job! Sounds like a fun time.

sounds like a fun filled evening. I do remember making roses with the white bread and glue. We did that in girl scouts. I don't remember mine looking like those though....lol

Goodness I helped my boys make many of these and I aslo remember making MINE when I was little. It was always so much fun making them with the anticipation of getting them filled.
I do not remember making those flowers - they are beautiful.
