Kisses, Snow, Stash Busting

Last weekend was spent in Hershey, Pennsylvania,
sweetest place on Earth.
Kisses Everywhere!
On your soap

 
On your room number,
bathroom wall,

embossed on the sheets,

soap,

shampoo,

and even on the parking spots.
 
 
And then the snow came.

And kept coming!
Yes, those are cars under there!
Luckily, we had the foresight to move our vehicle
to the covered parking lot
before it started!
 
Definitely, one of our smarter moves!

 
On another note,
update on the clean out!
 
382 items have left the house!  
  Over 10 percent done!

Oh my look at the snow! we haven't been to Hershey in many many years. But it was lots of fun when we went.
cleaning out is what I have been doing from closets to old paperwork.

Hi how are you? The snow is melting here so we are just waiting for another...thank goodness it's February♥♥ I have never been to Hershey but I think the Hershey Kisses on everything is cute!

One of these years I want to visit Hershey. I love how they promote their main product...everywhere. Good for you on the clean up. I do mine in runs and stops. The good thing is I do start up again even if there is time out between. Thanks for sharing.

Some of you asked for this. This is literally one of the EASIEST, most appreciated projects that I have ever made. I timed myself while I made this one and it was finished in under 1/2 hour and that included refilling bobbins, taking pictures, and searching the button box for two matching buttons. They are even faster if 1.) you don't do all of the above and 2.) you make them on an assembly line. Step 1. Cut a piece of fabric for the straps 4 inches wide by 14 or so inches long. If you have a very lightweight fabric, you can double it or use press on interfacing to back it. Step 2. Cut two coordinating rectangles approximately 12 to 15 inches by 15 to 18 inches. This is very loose, you can use vary the size of them. Pin those together on the bottom and halfway up the sides. Step 3. Press the 4 inch rectangle in half lengthwise with wrong sides together and sew around raw edges, then zig - zag the edge. If the fabric frays really bad, you can go over it again. Step 4

Sharpie Markers and Alcohol = Really Quick Art

What a fun, creative process!  Grab all those sharpies that are hidden in your desk drawer. Find that bottle of rubbing alcohol. (Vodka or hand  sanitize might work, you can always experiment) Dig out a canvas,  or go buy some,  nothing like having some blank canvases hanging around.  Draw some wild and crazy lines. Fast and not a lot of planning work best.  Hit it all with some alcohol.  Allow it to move and blend.  I use a brush for the alcohol,  You could use a spray bottle or eye dropper,  I just want a little more control on mine.  And re-outline with a black sharpie!   That's it!  Fast Art!  I will be teaching this next Friday along with two other  fun projects in Mayville, New York.  For more info go to: https://www.facebook.com/ARTRetreatatthelake
