Production Halted!

The following pictures will explain the halt in production at the shop yesterday. I had Kendall for the day, not realizing that Jenn was going to have the boys there also. These are the scenes from my office yesterday.
Tyler decided to try out this baby chair, after all, it was his originally. Logan and Tyler completely took over one of the desks and computer stations after telling Nana to "GET UP" because he wanted in there.
Grampa finally gave up and just played ball.

This is me, still trying to get some order in the place.


Tyler decided to hide in the extra shirt cabinet.



Kendall got her first experience in the walker. I think that she liked it.




I did manage to finish this baby gift last night. I had ran out of yarn at one point and could not find it locally, had to call my Mom in Ohio to go and find it and mail it to me. The shower is Saturday, time to spare actually!

I still do not have my computer printer issues resolved. They are completely frustrating me to the point that I really think that the printer and software are going to be returned today. On that note, John and I are leaving for New Orleans on Wednesday. Neither of us have ever been there and we would love suggestions of what to see and do when we are there. We will be attending a trade show on Thursday and Friday, have Saturday all day and Sunday Am open to look around. Any suggestions?

I think it is great you can have the grandbabies so close. You and John seem to take it all in stride!!! Have fun in New Orleans.

I can so relate. We also have our own business in our home and when the grandchildren are here we just have to give up the work as the house is too hectic to get any work done. I think we're living the same life. I'm also in PA and my grandson's name is Logan.

Some of you asked for this. This is literally one of the EASIEST, most appreciated projects that I have ever made. I timed myself while I made this one and it was finished in under 1/2 hour and that included refilling bobbins, taking pictures, and searching the button box for two matching buttons. They are even faster if 1.) you don't do all of the above and 2.) you make them on an assembly line. Step 1. Cut a piece of fabric for the straps 4 inches wide by 14 or so inches long. If you have a very lightweight fabric, you can double it or use press on interfacing to back it. Step 2. Cut two coordinating rectangles approximately 12 to 15 inches by 15 to 18 inches. This is very loose, you can use vary the size of them. Pin those together on the bottom and halfway up the sides. Step 3. Press the 4 inch rectangle in half lengthwise with wrong sides together and sew around raw edges, then zig - zag the edge. If the fabric frays really bad, you can go over it again. Step 4

Sharpie Markers and Alcohol = Really Quick Art

What a fun, creative process!  Grab all those sharpies that are hidden in your desk drawer. Find that bottle of rubbing alcohol. (Vodka or hand  sanitize might work, you can always experiment) Dig out a canvas,  or go buy some,  nothing like having some blank canvases hanging around.  Draw some wild and crazy lines. Fast and not a lot of planning work best.  Hit it all with some alcohol.  Allow it to move and blend.  I use a brush for the alcohol,  You could use a spray bottle or eye dropper,  I just want a little more control on mine.  And re-outline with a black sharpie!   That's it!  Fast Art!  I will be teaching this next Friday along with two other  fun projects in Mayville, New York.  For more info go to: https://www.facebook.com/ARTRetreatatthelake

Steps to a snowman face, Part 1.

Sketch in the face. Use chalk (I like welder's chalk) and don't be afraid. After all, it is a snowman and they are all different so you can't get it wrong. Paint the face white or light gray or light blue. Just get a base on it and let that dry. Then, and you have to work sort of fast to do this part, lay in three values of color. This one is a medium country blue, a lighter blue and white. I also frequently use Milk Chocolate, Cocoa and an Off-White. Experiment, you might find a better combination. Then Blend, Blend, Blend. I use the largest brush that I can fit in the area. Keep a paper towel folded in your hand and keep wiping your brush. Do not dip it back into the water at this point. Blend between the dark and medium, wipe your brush, blend between the medium and light. Nice soft blend between the values. And then, wipe your brush again and pick up white and drybrush more white in the lightest area. I like to drybrush a little white in the dark areas also. I t
