Ninety-two pictures?

OK, really, I am not going to show them all to you so don't zone out now.  I took ninety-two pictures!  There were so many interesting things and I wanted to document it all! I loved the lights on the water, wouldn't this make a great background for something?
And while I don't understand architecture, I love to look at old buildings and these two were among my favorites.

There were art displays along the river walk and they were made from recycled junk!  Of course that got my attention.   You may see more of those tomorrow.  This one was bowling balls and bowling pins and some other junk.

These are from our visit to Port Washington and Cedarburg.  What a lovely place!  I would love to go back.  So pretty!

Patti and I shopped on Monday at these wonderful shops in Elm Grove and this A Little Bit Country shop near her home.  They had the nicest selection of wool and rug kits that I have ever seen in a shop.  Of course all this shopping was part of the reason that I will be waiting for my dirty clothes to arrive on Fedex.

Of course, the first night there, Shawnee and I checked out a local restaurant and then a tiny bit of the nightlife at a little bar call Fire on Water with the band Kingfish.  The band was really good and such nice guys, although they would not allow me to edit their songlist to suit my likes and dislikes, they did manage to acknowledge the girls from Pennsylvania.

Shawnee and I did not get to spend as much time together as I would have like because of her conference schedule, but it was nice to spend some time together exploring Milwaukee.

Cathy I love Port Washington and Cedarburg, my nephew lives in Port, and I've been there many times! Isn't it just the most quaint little town!? In fact my sisters leave in the morning to take my niece home, and will be all over all 3 towns. Look forward to more pictures, you're bringing back some fun memories.

Great pics. I really like that bowling ball art piece. I also like the lights on the water and the stone wall with the door/gate. Really wonderfual visit. Thanks for sharing. :) TTYL

Some of you asked for this. This is literally one of the EASIEST, most appreciated projects that I have ever made. I timed myself while I made this one and it was finished in under 1/2 hour and that included refilling bobbins, taking pictures, and searching the button box for two matching buttons. They are even faster if 1.) you don't do all of the above and 2.) you make them on an assembly line. Step 1. Cut a piece of fabric for the straps 4 inches wide by 14 or so inches long. If you have a very lightweight fabric, you can double it or use press on interfacing to back it. Step 2. Cut two coordinating rectangles approximately 12 to 15 inches by 15 to 18 inches. This is very loose, you can use vary the size of them. Pin those together on the bottom and halfway up the sides. Step 3. Press the 4 inch rectangle in half lengthwise with wrong sides together and sew around raw edges, then zig - zag the edge. If the fabric frays really bad, you can go over it again. Step 4

Sharpie Markers and Alcohol = Really Quick Art

What a fun, creative process!  Grab all those sharpies that are hidden in your desk drawer. Find that bottle of rubbing alcohol. (Vodka or hand  sanitize might work, you can always experiment) Dig out a canvas,  or go buy some,  nothing like having some blank canvases hanging around.  Draw some wild and crazy lines. Fast and not a lot of planning work best.  Hit it all with some alcohol.  Allow it to move and blend.  I use a brush for the alcohol,  You could use a spray bottle or eye dropper,  I just want a little more control on mine.  And re-outline with a black sharpie!   That's it!  Fast Art!  I will be teaching this next Friday along with two other  fun projects in Mayville, New York.  For more info go to: https://www.facebook.com/ARTRetreatatthelake

Steps to a snowman face, Part 1.

Sketch in the face. Use chalk (I like welder's chalk) and don't be afraid. After all, it is a snowman and they are all different so you can't get it wrong. Paint the face white or light gray or light blue. Just get a base on it and let that dry. Then, and you have to work sort of fast to do this part, lay in three values of color. This one is a medium country blue, a lighter blue and white. I also frequently use Milk Chocolate, Cocoa and an Off-White. Experiment, you might find a better combination. Then Blend, Blend, Blend. I use the largest brush that I can fit in the area. Keep a paper towel folded in your hand and keep wiping your brush. Do not dip it back into the water at this point. Blend between the dark and medium, wipe your brush, blend between the medium and light. Nice soft blend between the values. And then, wipe your brush again and pick up white and drybrush more white in the lightest area. I like to drybrush a little white in the dark areas also. I t
