Costume party?

Saturday was Logan's birthday party. 
Those boys sure love their 
Halloween costumes! 
They use them a lot.
Logan always had to be Mario. 
The costume is tattered and worn. 
He has a brand new one from last years' birthday. 
He won't wear it. 
He dressed his cousin as Woody.


And Gracelyn got to be Nemo.

I think Wyatt was just trying to keep cool. 

Saturday morning had us at the Strip District. 
A restaurant supply house
where JWS 
had to buy this huge cooler. 
Excessive? 
Yes. 
I had to remind him that this little Playmate cooler 
used to hold everything he needed. 

Sunday,
Kendall got a day at the farm. 
Sheep, 
Cows,
Horses, 
Chickens,
Assorted Dogs....

And even a snake.
She calmly explained that her Daddy just 
"Booms them"


I thought this one was a little too close for comfort. 
But I assure you,
it got 
BOOMED!

What adorable Grandchildren. Looks like fun was had by all! Yikes!!! I hate snakes. I would say that's a little to close. Enjoy your day!

I always love seeing pictures of kids having a good time and how fun they love their costumes...I like that idea - why just wear the costume on one day of the year!

Cathy, those grands are so darn cute! Loved seeing all the costumes and they sure looked like they were having a blast! Our grandsons and their two buddies were super hero's saving their little town last week!

Big white cooler!?
Hmmm, must be a man thing. My hubby bought one at a second hand shop last year, just had to have it. (Looks like a small coffin) good price at $30 though. "Will come in handy" HE HAS NOT USED IT YET !!!!!!! Now he has at least one in every size available,
and he tells me I have to much "unnecessary" stuff taking up space!
That snake to me over the edge this morning! "BOOM" is right!

Such precious grands doing just what kids should be doing. Having fun with NO electronic gizmos!! Darbee Rae would have fit right in. She loves playing dress up. Love the "down on the farm" picture. Love the sheep, but the snake, well I am glad it went boom! Have a wonderful day.

Some of you asked for this. This is literally one of the EASIEST, most appreciated projects that I have ever made. I timed myself while I made this one and it was finished in under 1/2 hour and that included refilling bobbins, taking pictures, and searching the button box for two matching buttons. They are even faster if 1.) you don't do all of the above and 2.) you make them on an assembly line. Step 1. Cut a piece of fabric for the straps 4 inches wide by 14 or so inches long. If you have a very lightweight fabric, you can double it or use press on interfacing to back it. Step 2. Cut two coordinating rectangles approximately 12 to 15 inches by 15 to 18 inches. This is very loose, you can use vary the size of them. Pin those together on the bottom and halfway up the sides. Step 3. Press the 4 inch rectangle in half lengthwise with wrong sides together and sew around raw edges, then zig - zag the edge. If the fabric frays really bad, you can go over it again. Step 4

Sharpie Markers and Alcohol = Really Quick Art

What a fun, creative process!  Grab all those sharpies that are hidden in your desk drawer. Find that bottle of rubbing alcohol. (Vodka or hand  sanitize might work, you can always experiment) Dig out a canvas,  or go buy some,  nothing like having some blank canvases hanging around.  Draw some wild and crazy lines. Fast and not a lot of planning work best.  Hit it all with some alcohol.  Allow it to move and blend.  I use a brush for the alcohol,  You could use a spray bottle or eye dropper,  I just want a little more control on mine.  And re-outline with a black sharpie!   That's it!  Fast Art!  I will be teaching this next Friday along with two other  fun projects in Mayville, New York.  For more info go to: https://www.facebook.com/ARTRetreatatthelake

Steps to a snowman face, Part 1.

Sketch in the face. Use chalk (I like welder's chalk) and don't be afraid. After all, it is a snowman and they are all different so you can't get it wrong. Paint the face white or light gray or light blue. Just get a base on it and let that dry. Then, and you have to work sort of fast to do this part, lay in three values of color. This one is a medium country blue, a lighter blue and white. I also frequently use Milk Chocolate, Cocoa and an Off-White. Experiment, you might find a better combination. Then Blend, Blend, Blend. I use the largest brush that I can fit in the area. Keep a paper towel folded in your hand and keep wiping your brush. Do not dip it back into the water at this point. Blend between the dark and medium, wipe your brush, blend between the medium and light. Nice soft blend between the values. And then, wipe your brush again and pick up white and drybrush more white in the lightest area. I like to drybrush a little white in the dark areas also. I t
