Pot Lid Panic

So,
 yesterday...
Let's just say that I was multi-tasking.
I mean,
it was nice and I had a day at home
and
the
ADD
really kicked in high gear.
No focus,
way too many irons in the fire.
Way too many.
There were clothes on the line,
beds were stripped,
the yard was getting cleaned up,
trees were getting trimmed,
some painting was getting done,
butternut squash pies were being made,
macaroni and cheese,
pot lids and other various metal items were getting sprayed
and
anyone who knows me,
know that when all this happens,
something is going to
scorch
burn
IGNITE!
 
I get out a pan for the pasta
and....
can't find the lid! 
 
I feel my neck get hot,
I am fumbling,
I am not looking at JWS..
nothing,
no eye contact.
I am frantically digging in the cupboard
and
thinking...
(really screaming in my mind)
OHMYGOODNESSDONTEVENTELLMEITOOKTHATPOTLID
OUTSIDEANDSPRAYEDITJWSISGOINGTOKILLME!!!
 
Then I remembered,
relieved
that I had used it on the skillet and it was in the dishwasher
and
I seriously had to wait for my heart to slow down.
 
Another
catastrophe
averted!
 
Not much actually got
FINISHED
at my house this weekend
other than this salad.
 
 
Some pies and macaroni and cheese...
oh yes,
and
clean sheets from the clothesline.
 
See the afghan on top?
I have tons of yarn that I need to use up
so I started the
afghan on top.
It was going to take MONTHS!
So, I restarted another one with a big hook and double yarn.
Should be done this week!
 
 
 

 
This afternoon, we got the call.
We could go to the campground junk yard.
 
We,
JWS and I were almost giddy.
 
And guess what?
We found a fridge for the camper!

That salad looks scrumptious! Add some rolls and everyone could have off the salad plate what they want. I think I will do that this summer for everyone when they are here swimming in our pool. You displayed it well, too. Thanks....great idea.

Always a joy to come here first thing in the morning...lol
I don't have ADD but it feels like it sometimes but for me it could be the two excedrin I take in the morning that puts me in a spin sometimes so it feels like ADD - running from here to there and not accomplishing a whole lot.
Now your day sounds quite normal to me...lol

Interesting pot lid thing going on here...are you going to paint them obviously???

How fun to scramble through junk yard campers...I bet there's a lot one can find to salvage for their own. Glad you got a refrigerator. How's the camper coming anyway - are you going to be able to use it this year already?

LOL, that sounds like something I would do with the pot lid.
I always have those kinds of weekends since I can rarely focus on just one thing

Some of you asked for this. This is literally one of the EASIEST, most appreciated projects that I have ever made. I timed myself while I made this one and it was finished in under 1/2 hour and that included refilling bobbins, taking pictures, and searching the button box for two matching buttons. They are even faster if 1.) you don't do all of the above and 2.) you make them on an assembly line. Step 1. Cut a piece of fabric for the straps 4 inches wide by 14 or so inches long. If you have a very lightweight fabric, you can double it or use press on interfacing to back it. Step 2. Cut two coordinating rectangles approximately 12 to 15 inches by 15 to 18 inches. This is very loose, you can use vary the size of them. Pin those together on the bottom and halfway up the sides. Step 3. Press the 4 inch rectangle in half lengthwise with wrong sides together and sew around raw edges, then zig - zag the edge. If the fabric frays really bad, you can go over it again. Step 4

Sharpie Markers and Alcohol = Really Quick Art

What a fun, creative process!  Grab all those sharpies that are hidden in your desk drawer. Find that bottle of rubbing alcohol. (Vodka or hand  sanitize might work, you can always experiment) Dig out a canvas,  or go buy some,  nothing like having some blank canvases hanging around.  Draw some wild and crazy lines. Fast and not a lot of planning work best.  Hit it all with some alcohol.  Allow it to move and blend.  I use a brush for the alcohol,  You could use a spray bottle or eye dropper,  I just want a little more control on mine.  And re-outline with a black sharpie!   That's it!  Fast Art!  I will be teaching this next Friday along with two other  fun projects in Mayville, New York.  For more info go to: https://www.facebook.com/ARTRetreatatthelake

Steps to a snowman face, Part 1.

Sketch in the face. Use chalk (I like welder's chalk) and don't be afraid. After all, it is a snowman and they are all different so you can't get it wrong. Paint the face white or light gray or light blue. Just get a base on it and let that dry. Then, and you have to work sort of fast to do this part, lay in three values of color. This one is a medium country blue, a lighter blue and white. I also frequently use Milk Chocolate, Cocoa and an Off-White. Experiment, you might find a better combination. Then Blend, Blend, Blend. I use the largest brush that I can fit in the area. Keep a paper towel folded in your hand and keep wiping your brush. Do not dip it back into the water at this point. Blend between the dark and medium, wipe your brush, blend between the medium and light. Nice soft blend between the values. And then, wipe your brush again and pick up white and drybrush more white in the lightest area. I like to drybrush a little white in the dark areas also. I t
