Another "Normal" Day

Crafts and Craziness. That is how they go for me. I was on the DD delivery, Delivering my MIL to Dialysis. No time to waste, there were 21 boxes of shirts arriving and I had to get back to work.  But first, a stop at Walmart. Hair elastics for these wallets, some thread and an errand for my MIL Quickly, but it turned out VERY QUICKLY! Two bats, yes BATS! flew within a foot of my legs. Anyone who knows me, knows that bats are my worst fear! Really tight spaces would be next, but they are mostly avoidable or pre-planned drugged situations such as airplanes. Bats are unpredictable and now they are even in Walmart! Let me tell you, I vacated fast! Anyway, back to the crafts. I found this link. http://www.aspoonfulofsugardesigns.com/ and wow! They have the greatest tutorials! Check them out! Anyway, I have this hoard of sample books and am always on the lookout to find projects to use them up....

Chapter One entitled What Would You Do? This is my grandmother's sewing machine.  It is in really bad shape. The drawers are missing under that quilt, The bottom is pretty rusted, and the wood on the top is in really bad shape. JWS wanted it out of his garage, so here it sits. I am thinking of tearing it apart. Making a new table out of the base. A little cabinet out of the remaining drawers. and a lamp out of the sewing machine for my sewing room. Would that be wrong? to tear it apart that is? Chapter Two  entitled How NOT To Start Your Morning. This part has no pics. Really, you can be thankful for that. Let me start by saying, I love my mornings. ALONE. I have a routine. The only part of my day that I have a routine. One of the only times I have alone. I get up. I make coffee, throw a couple logs on the fire, drink coffee, watch a bit of the news. knit or crochet or sew. and then I leave the house and meet a friend and go for a walk. at 5:15.  That gives me almost an...

Goo Gone as Shampoo

Disclaimer: Do not try this at home. Sunday night, JWS and I went to the neighbors' house to watch the boys. For those of you that don't know, about two weeks ago, my step-daughter and son-in-law moved in next door with two of the cutest little boys in the world. and Bernie the dog. The house that we bought last fall, was finally ready to move in to.  At some point I will blog that process, but not today. I sit down on the floor and Logan plops into my lap. (Don't you just love that?) Well, immediately this horrible chemical smell hits me. "Logan, what in the world do you have in your hair?" He gets embarrassed and now everyone is smelling his hair and he snuggles closer to get away from them. EWWWW! HE STINKS!!! After Mom and Dad leave and Tyler quits sniffing, I quietly tell him, "Logan, please show me what you put in your hair, Grandma is not going to yell, I just want to know." He takes my hand, leads me to the hall closet, stoops down, reaches...
