Seven Days

Image
Seven Days of Creativity. It's a start!   It's an app!   Well, not exactly a creativity app, but a calendar that allows you to post a pic everyday!     So, often I make these huge lists the first of the year, only to find them in a stack of papers in June, largely unfinished and leaving me feel like I have done NOTHING! So, this year, I decided to scrap the lists... well not completely, and try this. Finishing a project a day.     Suppose it will work? Even if it doesn't... I have SEVEN projects done!

Friday Morning Weekly Progress Report

Image
Doesn't that just sound all office and professional?  Friday Morning Weekly Progress Report.   I really do go over the past week at work on Fridays and make the list for the next week.   This is a Home Progress Report though.   Afghans. Six of them. One down, five to go and the progress on each.   Because if you live in an ADD world as I do... you know one project is never enough.   Forty-five or so is really the magic number and I guarantee I have at least that many projects started around here! Some are stashed, some are blatantly staring me in the face.   These are all the ones stashed in the living room, if you don't count the doodle art projects started in the one corner behind the couch.   Shhhh, let's keep that quiet! Hopefully next Friday I will have another one finished.   One a week would take me to.... December 19th... I might h...

How It All Started

The Linus Project   http://projectlinus.org/       That has me rapidly crocheting since Shelby informed me she is doing that project with her students BEFORE Christmas.  Me, thinking of calm January nights in front of the fireplace...     Guess not! So, here I go.    And how it started?   With this little boy who is turning four today!   http://tolentreasures.blogspot.com/2010/11/update-thanks-and-prayers.html   There are chapters groups of  the Linus Project Everywhere!    Blankets can also be mailed!   A very worthy cause!

Roid Rush

Not hemorrhoids, steroids!   After putting off a trip to the doctor as long as possible for this stupid cough, last week I finally broke down and went in.   I do not like the call, leave a message and wait for someone to call you back process. I do not like the drive to the doctor, I do not like the waiting in the outer office, I do not like the waiting in the inner office, I do not like the weigh-in, I do not like the blood pressure check, (always elevated because of the preceding events)   Most of all, I think that cure is going to kill me one of these times. Antibiotics and Steroids, and the subsequent, pie-eyed, no sleep nights!   However, on the bright side, I do get a lot done. Steroids must be like buying time or adding extra hours into your day, or maybe the drug Speed.   Because while I don't function at top performance on concentrating while taking them, I sure c...

Looking For a Service Project?

Image
We are heading into one of the busiest times of the year. My house and business are a mass of lists, deadlines, appointments... It's enough to make your head swim.   You say, "Who has time to take on anything else?"   And I agree that it sounds overwhelming, however, so many of you that read this sew, knit, crochet, paint, craft, encourage, uplift, you name it. We all have a gift! Share it this season!   Below, I am going to list all my favorite service projects from years past.   What will I do this year? Right now, I have no idea, but I do know that there are a lot of crafting supplies calling my name!   This is the most popular post on my blog, close to 12,000 hits!  Shocked?  I was and am as it continues to grow. Thrilled? Yes! That means that there are all the more people receiving these much needed bags!   http://tolentreasures.blogspot.com/2010/04/w...

Update, Thanks and Prayers

What a little fighter this little boy is going to be!  Monday night at about 10:00, Wyatt started to have some problems.  He was being treated for pneumonia and his blood sugar levels were dropping dangerously low.  Hooked up to tubes and on oxygen, he was still being treated for by the caring staff at Indiana Regional Hospital.  We could not ask for better care!  Dianna also was having problems due to the spinal.  She was having severe headaches that they were trying to relieve for her.  Tuesday night at about 10:00, the decision was made to give Wyatt his first helicopter ride and transfer him to the NICU unit at West Penn Hospital in Pittsburgh.  The top notch staff arrived to take him, professionalism at it's finest. At 3:00 AM, he was in the sky, flying over Travis and I as we gassed and coffeed up at Sheetz to make the trip and meet him there.   I know in his little mind he was waving and laughing at us, I can picture him doing t...
