Tolentreasures

My purchases were mostly at Pittsburgh Center for Creative ReUse. I love that place, although, patient as JWS is, I did sense a certain uneasiness and readiness to bolt out of there as soon as I gave the word. I could stay there for hours. So, I bought tiles, and more tiles,   and lots of letters. At The Strip District, I also bought some ginger. Homemade ginger ale for Easter dinner! Can't wait! JWS bought a fish. And at PCCR he bought some golf balls for the boys. 128 golf balls, to be exact, for $5. (126 of them will turn into projectile objects under the mower blades in a mere two months or so.) He also bought a small jar of caviar. Don't these two things resemble one another? I assure you, I did not eat either one! Saturday was Logan's birthday party.  Those boys sure love their  Halloween costumes!  They use them a lot. Logan always had to be Mario.  The costume is tattered and worn.  He has a brand new one from last years' birthday.  He won't wear it.  He dressed his cousin as Woody. And Gracelyn got to be Nemo. I think Wyatt was just trying to keep cool.  Saturday morning had us at the Strip District.  A restaurant supply house where JWS  had to buy this huge cooler.  Excessive?  Yes.  I had to remind him that this little Playmate cooler  used to hold everything he needed.  Sunday, Kendall got a day at the farm.  Sheep,  Cows, Horses,  Chickens, Assorted Dogs.... And the laugh of the day.  Yesterday, Jenn and I went to the Strip District in Pittsburgh to buy the paper products for Dianna's baby shower which is today.  Procrastination and last minute issues aside (I didn't finish the one gift until last night)  We took the boys for their first trip to the Strip.  They loved it.  Everything is different when seen through the eyes of kids.  These two had to have their picture taken with the bear outside of Wholey's Fish Market.  The train inside was one of their favorite things.  They were not sure about the live lobster tank though.  But the laugh of the day for me was when Tyler ran up to a big picture of President Obama and pointed to it.  I thought to myself, Wow, one month of kindergarten and I am going to get some wisdom about the Commander in Chief, the Leader of the Free World, a government lesson from a five year old.... Thank you everyone for all the prayers for my Mom. She had her heart cath and everything went really well. They did not have to do a stint and they think that just a change in medication will solve her problems. Great news! A few more finished projects. I liked that last one and this person did not care what I did, so I made two more just like it. I have no idea why this picture is so blurry. Stopped at Claypoole's Fabric Store in Worthington on my way home from Ohio. That is where I bought the fabric for the boys' quilts and I didn't have enough left for the binding. Luckily they had the fabric left that I wanted for the binding. While I was there I found this. The boys are crazy for Tom and Jerry. The best of both worlds would describe what we have... Thursday afternoon my daughter, the Princess and I went to Pittsburgh to the Strip District to get supplies for the shower tomorrow. I love to go in Schorin's for all the tablewares. They have such a great selection of plates and cups and tablecloths and placemats in about any color and it is so well arranged and the people there are so friendly! I love the hustle and bustle and energy of The Strip District, sometimes it ALMOST makes me think that I could live in the city, however..... This morning a friend of mine introduced me to the Produce Auction that the Amish have in Smicksburg, Pa and I realize that the country is the place for me. There is something about standing in that open air auction building bidding on flowers and produce realizing that this is part of your "culture" in the country that I could just not give up that makes me realize that although I was born and raised in the city, I think that ...
