What I Didn't Plan For This Week

Image
Laying tile,  which I might add that I think I am getting a little old for that work.  JWS decided to remodel a kitchen at the fairgrounds the same week  that I decided to paint over half of my house.  Let me tell you, that was not in my plans for the week.  But, I obliged.    Now... my hands hurt, my knees hurt,  my arms hurt. Not complaining, mind you,  just stating the facts.  The other thing that did not factor into this week was these adorable little preschool children that I somewhat forgot were arriving to print their own shirts.    Such cuties.,,, way better than tiling.    This is the "before" of the kitchen, the after will soon follow.    Anything has to be better than this!

Three Little Pigs

Image
Another hectic week in.  The theme for this one is Three Little Pigs or Pork Fat Rules OR How many gun raffles can you attend in one month? Two gun raffles would be enough for one lifetime for me. Let alone, two in a month. Back to last Saturday, John attends this huge, how can you get any more redneck, extravaganza gun raffle annually. He looks forward to it like Christmas. He asked me to go this year.  Reluctantly, I said yes. I mean after all, He has endured craft shows, art fairs, quilt shops, and more. It's only one day. How bad can it be? It was bad. It was sitting in a traffic jam for hours, twelve hour layover in airport without your cell phone, stuck in an elevator with smelly people kind of bad. I looked for the fun. I tried. Really, I did. It just wasn't there. And then the food. Three types of pork. Sausage Kielbasi Pulled Pork. All excellent, mind you. Two types of cabbage, Sauerkraut and Coleslaw Corn and Potatoes. Anyone want to venture what that menu does to ...

The Cameras Should Be Rolling...

We really could have a better show than the Kardashians. Oh, of course we are not as beautiful or glamorous, and we sure don't have that kind of money, (or much of any right now actually) but there sure is a lot of activity. Of course, I had to put a picture in of something creative. This was actually all I got finished this week. More on that later. So, Back to yesterday. I knew it had the potential to not go smooth. Too many variables, too close of scheduling. Up at 5:00 AM. Make the coffee, a little devotional, a little prayer, (that probably was the key to it not going worse, or me remaining somewhat sane) Out the door at 5:30 for the 3+ mile walk. It is not light yet, we take flashlights. How silly do we look? Back in the house at 6:15, Take JWS his coffee in bed. (I do that EVERY morning {smug smile on my face}) Anyway, Jump through the shower and "do" my hair, there won't be time for touch ups later, we have a dinner to go to and are leaving at 5:00 PM right w...
