Mid Century Decor

Image
Yesterday, I went on a bus trip with my mom to Amish Country.   Holmes County, Ohio. The largest Amish settlement in the country, and so on.     I heard a lot of Amish facts. The bus driver was very informative. I live in Amish country, not a big place, not "fancy" Amish with phones and bicycles and scooters and well... how to put this delicately.... hmmm, sometimes I just wonder how much to put out there.   Let's just say that not only are these Ohio Amish people FANCY, they are also ... nice smelling!    There I said it.   They work in stores and restaurants and wear white athletic shoes. No barn or horse or "other" smells among them.   It must be Saturday night every night there!   So, quilts and fabric and apple butter and baked goods and hats and wool and woodcrafts and   well, all that aside... I found camper deco...

Retro and Rugs

Image
As some of you know that have been following along... I have a new project. A 1967 camper trailer that I am "fixing up" You can follow along here I have been painting and cleaning and scrubbing and digging through my stuff for retro stuff. I found these afghans and washed them up this morning. Finished this rug for the camper. Finished the blue rug underneath and started the one on top for the "living room" of the camper. Here is the kitchen area, had to set it up for this photo.

Three more finished.

The little pennants have been partially finished for over a week. Number three. Rug finished. Number 4. The big pennants. Number 5. Ann is way ahead of me on this challenge, however, I am really happy to have at least finished something or some things. This is what we call the Casnabberfort on our deck. Named by the carpenter that built it. The name stuck. After the untimely death of the camper, (more on that in another post) I decided to decorate this area with the collection of camper decorations that I had started. Getting mixed reviews. What do you think?

Announcing!
