So Many Highs and Lows

Image
Let's see, a High, or at least I think. JWS made me buy a gun raffle ticket.   As some of you know, I have gone on rants about gun raffles before. I don't like them.   Not the "gun" thing, I am just not a gambler and I don't consider them near the entertainment that JWS does.   But, I did my civic duty and bought a ticket. It supports the fair. Really? I put enough time in there to more than support the fair, but it was worth the $20 to have JWS not pester me anymore.   And I won a gun.   I don't need a gun, don't want a gun, much less an expensive gun. Truthfully, and don't hang me up on this one. I would have just liked a cardinal gun.... but we won't go there. So far the construction paper hung on the outside of the window is working for the cardinal problem, so he is allowed to live. I don't know that I want construction paper on my windows all summer, but...

Ramblings of a Non Deer Camp Widow

Image
This is the view outside my front door this morning. It certainly brightened my mood! Sunrise and Sunset, while we don't have fantastic, uninterrupted views of them, I am thankful for the views that we have! .And now on to the ramblings. Anyone remember this post? http://tolentreasures.blogspot.com/2011/11/ten-good-things-about-deer-camp.html One short year ago. Well this year ends a long standing tradition. JWS is staying home for deer camp. Those of you who know us, would say it is only a nine year tradition that you are alone for deer camp. True, very true. But you see, I began a tradition of being alone (well except for those child rearing years when you are NEVER alone)  for deer camp in 1978 in another life. Thanksgiving over, a long weekend off work before the chaos of Christmas starts. I loved it. No wait, I cherished it! How quickly it was gone! I heard those words several ago, "I don't thi...

Winner and Writer's Cramp

Image
Ok, so I am a day late on the giveaway. Right now, I am more than a day late on everything!  Not sure where my time is going.  Well, I do, but we are not going to talk about my latest addiction to Words with Friends.  Are we now? Anyway, the giveway was for all the people that commented in the last month. I have writer's cramp!  Sort of a dumb way for me to do it, writing them, that is. But the winner is Sandi at The Primitive Skate! Congrats, Sandi!  Just tell me what eggs you want, what purse you want, and anything else you might like and I'll get it sent right out to you! I really appreciate all of you that stop by and leave a comment. Thanks for following along, Coming soon, In Search of the Elusive Maryland Crab

And the winner is...

Deb from Paxton Valley Folk Art!  Congratulations, Deb!  I will just need your address and this and more will be heading your way. Thanks everyone for entering, I tried to get around to commenting on each entry but in the end, got busy at work and I think that I missed some of you.  I hope to drop in and visit those of you with blogs real soon! Thanks again, and watch for another one in the near future. Now on to the rest of the post, Or What I would like to call, A Little Crafting and A Whole Lot of Crazy First of all, the little crafting. These are an order for a local shop. Finished them this morning. Seventy nine of them to be exact. As if that is not craziness enough, or the fact that it is Monday. We will move on to the Whole Lot of Crazy. This morning my MIL arrives at work. Where I work and my husband works and well. not really where she works, although she does help out sometimes. Most of the time, she has something crazy that will involve one of us. No...

Winter Blahs

Image
Such a negative title, but I am fighting them. Trying to stay positive, But, it's really not my favorite time of year. For years, January meant a mission trip to the Dominican Republic or a trip to Florida. A break from winter anyway. Hershey was fun but it was still winter. So, I am knitting, a set of mittens for a friend. and some more cowls. A chair found at a thrift shop, waiting for the paintbrushes,  if i could just make myself pick them up!   JWS is buying this by the case. And today... I think that I will plant this Chia Pet. My MIL received this as a gift. I think that the kids will like watching it grow. And a winner in my giveaway! Theresa of Theresa's Heartfelt Stitches won! Congrats Theresa! And I won a giveaway! I am so excited. Carmen at Primcats picked me for her unbirthday giveaway! I am watching the mail daily!
