A whole week of projects.

Hard to believe a whole week has gone by and I have not been to Blogland.  I have been working on several projects.  This tray has been sitting here waiting to be painted for a customer and since Shawnee and I are leaving Saturday for Milwaukee, I figured I better finish it for a little extra spending money. Same with this cake cover.  It was to match the customer's china.  I hope that she likes it. And since I still can't get this new picture loader figured out, these are a little out of order.  These are photos of a sign that also was an order that I finished up this week. And this is the sign.  It is in the basement and I am running there every half hour to get coats of varnish on it. This was a gift for a wedding that I hurriedly painted on Saturday while the little boys watched taped tractor pulls.  They have to be the only little boys around that know that Pulltown USA is in Bowling Green, Ohio.  I see a road trip in the future. And wh...

Staycation weekend.

Last night we decided, John and I that we like this stay at home Fourth of July tradition that we have created. He worked yesterday for part of the day, I did not, today we traditionally ride our bikes to eat breakfast with friends. Given several factors, including the 50 degree temperature and the fact that the big flea market falls on this weekend this year, I will be driving my car to breakfast and then heading to the flea market. The guys will ride the bikes or golf or something guy like for the day and I will be taking my "non flea market" friend to dig for treasures. Who knows, maybe I will get her hooked on them. This "new" obsession of paper stuff is not a good thing. I have this mess all over my painting counter...and floor and I just can't leave them alone. This is such a left turn from my normal crafting. Normally if I make something it has to be utilitarian, marketable, a gift, or something to adorn my house. These are none of those and wh...

Sign at work, sign at home.

Finished one at both places. I finished this one tonight, other than the varnish for Little Miss Kendall. How fitting, in honor of her being one month old and actually due today. The way I look at it, had she been born today we would have just found out her name today and looking at it that way, I am way ahead with getting this done. Logical? I have had this sign waiting for me for quite awhile. It has actually been on the procrastination list. It is done with sign paint and the paint is oil based and gives me a dreadful headache. Officially, this is my last sign painted with that paint. It is just not worth it to feel unhealthy for a sign....priorities! I am really glad to have this done though, why do I put these things off when it is such a good feeling to finish them, and collect the pay!
