Tolentreasures

  Today was the day to deliver the Linus Project Blankets that Shelby's class made   add a little more stock to the shelves at Diamond Antiques   and a visit to Pittsburgh Center for Creative Reuse.   A few surprises along the way!   The first, a ride along friend which made the day much more fun! and second white out conditions that were a little scary.   So, what did I find? The samples above which I think would look cool strung and hung in the yard somewhere.    A few more laminate samples in some different sizes. Some blanks for my dad and his carving friends.   Some letters to add to the collection. Cute little clothespins. Game pieces. Seashells and gems for VBS decorating. Leather samples for collages. And about 20 of these!  These were at Construction Junction for 15 cents each.   They will be part of a room remodel ...

This and This!   But I just can't seem to pick up those brushes!   Hopefully the warmer weather this week puts me in a better state of mind!

My mom kept telling me that my Dad was making really nice candleholders. He is always making something and I could not picture in my mind what she was describing. WOW! What a lot of work and patience is in these!  I managed to keep this one! It was my favorite.  And Mom made this table runner for me and brought it in also.  Gifts for me and not just the princess....woohoo! Guess I need to clean off the dining room table and display this lovely table runner. The dining room has become a catch all.  We look like old people. Wait. Maybe we ARE old people! Super Sunday today. We will have one of our friends here JWS is making a 23 pound turkey. Really?

This is on my sewing room floor. Finally managed to get Kendall's handprint, although her baby finger looks a little crooked. This morning's project, changed the colors from Quick and Easy. Finished this bowl yesterday Tea stained these runners. Sorry for the blur, these are finished other than varnish and antiquing. I am not really liking the new way to make posts, think that I'll go back to the old way.  Too much for my brain, I guess.

My very first SOCK! When I started to try to learn to knit at the first of the year, I never would have thought I would have made it to socks this fast. I am racing on to the match for it now! When I was in the Dominican in January we had to go to Santo Domingo one day and made a brief stop in the Colonial Zone. It is a fun place of gift shops and so much history. I found these amber bead/drops in a little gift shop and brought them home with the idea of making gifts with them. This is the first one that I have finished. This scarf was found in the attic partially finished, finished it up yesterday and it is going in the donation bin. Sure hope that I find a home for these before next winter. This was an experiment in penny rugs. I wondered how ovals would work instead of circles. It is my mug rug now. Not a hard project to finish, this had been painted and in the stash for over a year.
