December is here already?

Image
It’s been another week of running and lists.    Chores and obligations and things that have to be done.   There doesn’t seem to be any down time built into all this.  I thought today was going to be the day and  last night, reminders came in for  orders that people want …yesterday!    This vine was a gift item,  that needed done.              The tree in Ford City needed decorated.  Not my best work,  but checked off the list in the freezing cold!  The half hour ride home with every heating accessory in my car on full blast, didn’t quite thaw me out!          This is one of the seven or eight quilt tops stacked up in  need of visiting the quilter. When I got this one back,  I gave her three more and said to space them out a little  for my pocketbook’s sake.   This one jus...

Bullet Journaling

Image
After years of lists and tons of spiral notebooks, I think I might have found the ultimate organization that seems to fit me!   Everything in one place. Organized. Charted.   And the best part for me... Instead of crossing off items with no record of what was accomplished, I have a sense of what I actually managed to get done! Great motivation!   Of course, they don't have the beauty and perfection that is seen on Pinterest, But it is working for me. JWS found this book in some stuff he was cleaning out.   It is very old, probably 40 years old at least.  I thought I would give it a try,  now I am shopping for a NEW book. Any suggestions?

Classes, classes, CLASSES!

Image
It started out so innocent.   My friend's daughter was getting married and they wanted to do a painting class.   We had this new back room at the shop.   I could teach that!    Bring them here!   And then... this, and this, and how about Gracelyn's birthday? and this, this, this, this, this, and... this and don't forget these, this again, and this...     is where it all started!     It has been so much fun!    Truly, I could do this for a living!

The Rest of the Day

Image
After the Suwannee Quilt Shop,  we were directed to  Newberry, Florida, where the nice people directed us to High Springs, Florida, and then on the way home, all on our own,  with the help of a little signage we found.... drum roll, please... Micanopy, Florida! I have decided that I have spent way too much time in my 55 years visiting the  EDGES of the state of Florida!  What a fun day exploring the inside of Florida!  All the towns were very nice,  with great shops and  friendly people.  Micanopy, by far had the most shops and  looked so historical.  We ended up there late in the day and it was Monday and some of the shops were closed.  I would love to go back  and spend the day there just exploring.  This was a display of pottery in an artists co-op  in either Newberry  or  High Springs I am not sure which now....

Yarn Bombing

Image
Sometimes I get a little manic. I fight it, but dangle something new in front of me (or a least new to me) and I am off on a tangent. I saw these on Facebook thanks to a wonderful creative friend, Pam at http://grammysalteredlife.blogspot.com/ Dear Pam, I put that there so that my children can track you down!   I had to try my own small version of it. For all of you that like the Amish, I had to include this pic with the horse and buggy. It started like this, with some stuff I already had... and just "grew" all over the living room floor. Jenn helped me install this much this morning, looking over her shoulder lest anyone she know should see her actually helping the crazy lady. But then, once installed, she stepped back and informed me that it needs to be BIGGER! Oh my, that should send me digging through the yarn stash again! One thing is for sure... This is the FIRST yarn b...

Last Class

Image
Last  night was my last charcoal class. Although it was only four weeks, I learned so much. Joining the local art association has been great. It has made me aware of so many new avenues. And.. Doesn't that one pencil look crooked?  I just noticed that. Oh well, it's not as if I had a ruler. Gives credit to that statement, "I can't even draw a straight line." Next class, starts Monday. Not exactly a class, it is open studio nights in April. Still lifes. Can't wait! And Paint. I cleaned these shelves the other night. Yes. This. Is. Clean. For me, anyway. Recently, I became a Helping Artist for Decoart. They are very generous with products for you to try. My head is spinning with possibilities for projects. If only I didn't have to go to work...
