Santa A hair cut Face Scrubbies Serv Safe Pa State Fair Convention New Easels Cherry M&M's and The EASY BAKE OVEN!   What a day!   I can't even remember it all. I had asked Shawnee to come up and cut my hair. It needs colored...bad. There was no way it was going to pull through a frosting cap in it's present length and damaged state.   She forgot her scissors and razor.   I had scissors.... ever have your hair cut with a rotary cutter?  Neither had I... until yesterday.   Studying for the Serv Safe test one week from today.   Not a big studier!  I have been working on these face scrubbies in between. I would much rather crochet. Santa?  They are never going to get put away at this rate... they are red, won't they qualify as Valentine décor?   I get to work....very late. Just in time to have a grocery list handed to me for when I pick up ...

The 17 Year Quilt-FINISHED!

Image
First let me say after over one year of blogging and over 200 blog posts, I NEVER saw that little blue sentence that says "Add Another Image" on the picture loader window. I have been loading pictures one at a time instead of the five at a time that Blogger allows! The things you learn. And how easy is that? Mom bought me this pattern for Christmas. I have been saying that I would like to tackle a wool quilt and I have several yards of thin black wool that I bought for the base of quilt. This is my challenge item for this year. My Mother makes these great pillowcases. The night before her surgery, I helped her make the last four sets of them. Very easy and fun to make and so much nicer than any purchased pillowcases. As a sidenote : If I had a maid, or if I didn't have a job, I think that I would have clean pressed sheets and pillowcases every day. Well let's just go with a maid. I wouldn't do it myself everyday! And this table runner was quite the ...

The twelve year project and an easy one

Image
My mom started these Santa blocks for a quilt twelve years ago and I have been doing the blanket stitching around all of the design for her. It has been quite an ongoing project. There is a Santa for every month of the year. When I started this 30 day project these were the last three and on my initial list, I listed them as one project. I am so glad that they are done! Now the unfinished project is hers....she has to put them together and quilt it. I am so glad that my part is done. The blanket is for Logan to keep here. Tyler has his own fleece blanket here and Logan did not have one yet so I made this last night for him. They are staying with us this Saturday night and I wanted this done for him. These would be 12 and 13. I still have not figured out exactly all the little aspects of posting these, the pics at the top I added later so that the embroidery could be seen on the blocks.
