JWS baked a rhubarb strawberry pie!  Is is amazing!    Kendall had a softball game last night!  What form!  Garren had kindergarten graduation.  He looks less than impressed!  But he did his spoken part perfect!  All signs of summer coming!  Thanks to my klutzy friend,  I have some great painting surfaces!  She keeps breaking mirrors.  I have a third one in the garage.      And these two flea market finds!  Counted cross stitch and framed  beautifully!  Another crazy week here,  just trying to find time to do  some yard work,  some laundry and  clean those porches! 

Yesterday was Career Day at Preschool. Kendall went as a princess.  Who wouldn't want to be a princess?   She is 4, I am 56. I still want to be a princess!  What I am not,  is a foodie. Or a cook,  chef, or anything else food related.  What I have been thrust into,  kicking and screaming, is  a part of preparing food for  about  500-600  people. Not to mention shopping for it. Have I mentioned that I despise grocery shopping? JWS loves it.  But I went along, because I like the  Strip District and  we had dinner at one of my favorites places, Roland's. Silky has been around since birth. She (I have given her a gender) goes everywhere with Kendall and she was a mess.  Everyone has repaired her. She was looking so bad.  Kendall agreed to give her up for a night.  I made her a Mini Silky.  I was nervous.  Would she like it? This is Silky before!  Now she is a  Mini Silky and Kendall is Happy!  

Edging a table runner, Upholstering some chairs,  thank goodness  JWS came to the rescue  and  helped me finish them!  One side of a mailbox,  have the other to do yet.  Daily checks on the signs of spring.  A painting class. A little bit of sewing. A craft class at Michaels with Gracelyn.  Lots of class prepwork. Some spring owls.  Still working on this bedspread.  Kendall, three days a week!  And a nursery painted.  And that's where my weeks are going! 

  Who? Kendall, the one on the left asks a lot of questions.  Gracelyn, the one on the right is more , let's say, ethereal.  She makes up her own stories... and answers. Kendall is literal, grounded in the who, what, where, when, why and how. They love to play in the tailgate while we are waiting on the bus in the morning. Makes me have to keep it cleaned out. What? That is not an easy task! You will see why later.   Where?   This is my attic.  This is open house stuff! I have painted and knitted and sewed and, wait for it, Priced Nothing!!!!   So, I spend a lot of time sitting up here doing inventory and pricing.   When? Early morning.   On the awning for my camper!  The material arrived on Thursday, but it has been one of those weeks that I really have not had time to start it. You know the whole BLOCK of time that is needed to really get into a project. So there it sits. Well actually this morning it made it out of the living room and to my sewing room. I so wanted to just order a ready made awning and the price was not terrible, but JWS wanted it in place before we went camping next weekend, and no "awning" person was co-operating with HIS time schedule. I will keep you posted on that project. There is something a little intimidating about cutting into that roll of fabric though. Very intimidating.       See this? Those of you that are my FB friends have already seen it. This cardinal is driving me crazy! He just keeps flying into the window. Lands on the screen and then flies up at the top window. Over and over and over ...

See this face? That about sums up January for me! This is Garren's excited face.  Mine looks the same, but maybe not for the same emotion.   I always look forward to January. Slow at work, lots of days to come home early. Lots of big projects to complete. Well, let's just say, January didn't quite shape up that way.    I had high hopes of getting lots of stockings finished for next year, some painting orders done, and some rest.   Instead... I got a lot of these done.   Quick and easy. Instant gratification. Not a whole lot of thought.   Projects anyway. Welcomed this new little boy.   Did a little thrift shopping. Spent some quality time with Kendall   So did Papaw. A little more thrift shopping....   And even managed to make curtains for Kendall's room. (Well, Mom made the pinwheels, I just sewed them together)   All in all...
