Moments That Interrupt Worship

Image
I had several of them yesterday.  First of all,  taking two boys to church on my own while it is easier than when they were little, is still daunting.  Now they have to sit through part of the service. And they fidget.  A lot.  I am not sure which came first.  Tyler fells the call,  not from God,  the bathroom call. It is right outside the sanctuary. Apparently, he sings during the call.  Not lovely praise songs,  really loud and twangy country songs that about the last three rows of church were hearing loud and clear  during the pastor's prayer.  I leave,  open the door to the bathroom which only makes the singing louder, and  drag him back into church shushing him all the way.  The second jaw-dropping epiphany of the morning... again, not really from God, is that Bible School is only a week away!   Honestly, I think that moved it as so...

What the well dressed princess is wearing.

Channeling my inner fashionista this month, now I am ready to announce the showing of the   Spring Princess Collection.  Gracelyn would have been our model, but she would not take off the "Belle" dress. So you will have to view the showroom models.  Appearing first is our Spanish matador inspired ensemble. One day in church, a woman handed me a bag of material scraps from dresses that someone had made.  Not one to throw anything away, as most of you know, I hung on to those for a year or so and here they are transformed into our first item in our spring collection.   Our second fashion statement is made from material left over from the window sill cloths at the church and again, fabric that was donated to me. Gold lame' lined with Chantilly lace circle skirt and reversible evening cape our Princess should feel just like Princess Grace Kelly in this 50's inspired grouping.  Continuing in our evening wear is this lovely black and teal sc...

Some organizing and a really smart phone

Image
Obviously, I am going to show you the better picture first. Organization is not my strong point. That is sugar coating it. I suck at neatness. I thrive in chaos! Really. But...  This was even bothering me. See why I showed you the "organized" one first. I am sure that JWS has Hoarders Anonymous on speed dial on his phone. We watch the show. He says that I am one bump on the head away from being one of those crazy people. And now, on to the smart phone. Remember this post. I fought the phone kicking and screaming. Now... I LOVE IT!  What did I ever do without it? Oh, I still don't have cell phone service where I live. I keep hoping. But, This phone does EVERYTHING! It is my alarm clock and sound machine.   It is now my GPS Ipod Calculator Camera Video Camera Calendar Weather News Flashlight..yes it even has a flashlight. I can play games check my email and entertain grandchildren, although... It took me three days and a tech support call to Shawnee to figure out...
