Open House Cramming

Image
Just like cramming for a test, I have been cramming to get things done for the Open House. I work at it all year... why do I do this every year? Sewing and painting and more painting, and more sewing. And this was my big oops this week. I painted this then got the idea to put a handle on it. Found an old leather belt and promptly attached it... completely CROOKED! I then had to sand it down and repaint the face. Dumb, Yes!

How time flies.

Where are the weeks going? Spring must be here. Time starts spinning out of control The winter break must be over. I had a deadline to meet, more on that for another time. I made it, but I seriously underestimated the work required to meet it. Enough of that though. This material behind these flowers just shouted at to me as I slid through a quilt store a few weeks ago. I used sealer to adhere it to the painted surface and then painted on top of it. It still needs varnished.  That should smooth out the surface. A few gingers that have been waiting for attention since last fall. And more owls. A couple of more paintings. And some more sketches from my charcoal class. I only have one more class. I am going to miss them!

Busy Hands

That really need to get busier. The month is almost over! Once again, I had these huge plans for January and what happened? It is almost gone and I still have orders that need done. This board is for my Mom's Sunday School class. Probably too much of this. Knitting and Recliner time. Last night, in the spirit of the upcoming holiday, I tried this. There is a lot more wool laying on my end table. And JWS and Shawnee You can be happy that I finally cut up the pink coat. You see, I bought this coat at a yard sale more than several years ago. Pink. Lots of wool. The woman was horrified that I would cut it up. Really? It's not as if she was going to wear it any longer. She refused to sell it to me unless I was going to wear it. So I did. I wore it a few times. It was warm. But really, it was a lot of pink. So now. It is going to be bowl fillers for Valentine's Day. I am heading over to add a bunch of goodies to my selling blog IF this computer will co-operate. It has iss...

Can anyone help me?

So, for the new year, I thought I would try once again the template designer of Blogger. I want those easy to read fonts, the ability to change things around a little, one cup of coffee in and mustering all the patience I have, I tried! However... I just can't figure out this background thing. Now I seem to have two of them running on top of each other. HELP! PLEASE! Email me! Comment! I would be ever so grateful. Painting day yesterday. So relaxing, Lifetime movies and paint in my hair, on my shirt, on my hands. What a stress reliever! And of course, a couple more of the fastest hats in the world. And a little bribery/incentive... To the person that can figure out my blog issues... There will be a prize! Do I really sound desperate?

The REST of the Week.

Otherwise known as Things I Was SO Not Ready to Talk About or All Aboard the Crazy Train...Again. See this picture? Any of you remember this post? Like this rug? Well In the continuing saga... It is no more. This would be our new decorator rug. Maybe we'll start a new trend. Dollar Store Decorating DH, which might or might not be meaning Dear Hubby right now. Burnt the rug. Oh he says a log jumped right out of that fireplace and he single-handedly saved the house and me from a fiery demise. But He has a reputation. Not a good one. I was so mad. So mad I could not talk. Could not yell. Could not stomp and snort. That is REALLY mad. I'm over it now...almost. In the remaining issues of the week. The eye doctor's office ordered the wrong contacts for me. On itchy, dry-eyed day at work and I checked the boxes. Wrong. Two more weeks while I wait for the right ones to come in. There is more to the story. I am over it also....almost. The saga of the poinsettias. The church poinsett...
