Struggling with Blogger. Honestly,  I thought that the problems I had were with the computer and  now a new computer and it does the same things.  I cant center the pics  but here goes.  I needed something quick to make and sell that we use up  the  hoard I mean stash of material that I have acquired, My mom told me about a woman that had these  at a craft show and how well they were selling.  As any of you know that I have read my ramblings,  I don't get real precise with measurements... who needs all that structure in their life anyway.  So,  take your piece of material and cut it into manageable bag sizes.  Keep in mind that I folded these so that there is only a bottom and side seam so make allowances for that in your cutting.  After zig-zagging at least 15 of these,  I decided to pink them instead,  because really,  stash busting...

There are so many variations of these. This one is pretty simple though, and easy enough to mass produce as you will see later. Start with two rectangles 6 1/2" x 8" I am using fabric drapery and upholstery sample books for these. Place them right sides together. Sew both of the short ends together with a 1/4" seam allowance. Turn right side out and press. Fold both the seams in to meet with the lining side out. Straight stitch and zig zag the edges. If you are lucky enough to have a serger, this would be a lot quicker. Clip the corners on an angle. Turn right side out and press. Then get the next 30 or so done! And you have the perfect little tuck in gifts. These are on their way to local nursing homes to be tucked into Christmas packages.

First of all, I had big plans for yesterday. I had a list. A big list. But first, I wanted to try to make a set of these pennants for my camper. And that is where the day went awry. They were just too much fun! Seven sets later... and nothing on the list done... the least I can do is tell you how to make them. You will need: Scraps of material Backing fabric Heat and Bond Double fold wide bias tape Sewing machine Scissors or Rotary Cutter. OK, to start. If you don't have a rotary cutter and mat, you will need to make a pattern from cardboard of a pennant. I cut some 6 inches by 8 inches, 4 inches by 6 inches and 4 inches by 5 inches. Cut a rectangle any of these sizes, find the middle of the smaller end and draw a line from the upper corner to that middle line on both sides and cut out. It is much easier with the rotary cutter. When you have enough cut, iron the heat and bond onto the backing fabric....

You will need: Lightweight cardboard Pen Scissors Thread Old Jeans 10 squares of contrasting material. Sewing Machine. Start with a circle pattern around 7 inches in diameter.  I used one of my small plates and it worked fine. Cut a cardboard pattern or just trace around the plate.   You will need 10 of these for the runner. Trace the circles on the wrong sides of the jeans and cut out. Hint:  I trace a bunch, cut them into smaller pieces and cut them out in the evenings in front of the TV. Now this part is a little tricky. You might need some of your high school geometry skills. You need a pattern for a square that fits inside of your circle and touches all four corners. I used my ruler for my rotary cutter and laid it down on my circle pattern and marked the circle pattern. Mine worked out to five inches. This is the end of the math, I promise. If you have a simple graphics program on your computer, you should be able to make a pattern from that also.  and i...
