A New Stove

Image
Well, actually not here yet, and not  stainless steel.  We ordered this in black.  When do you get it, you ask? Delivery date is  December 30th.  AFTER A party at my house for 30 + people next Saturday night.  AFTER All the Christmas baking (which is really no big deal, I don't bake much anyway) and  AFTER  Christmas dinner at my house for a family of 19.  You might say, Why Cathy, how are you going to do all that with no stove? I have answers.  1. Electric Roasters 2. Electric skillets 3. Crock Pots 4. Microwave 5. Grill 6. Jenn's stove next door 7. Cold dips 8. Kids that do have stoves and do bake 9. The local bakery and  10. Fox's Pizza. I think we have the holidays covered.  And  What prepares us for all of this?  A brief story.  One time, about six years ago,  we organized a mission trip. 1. Bought the tickets, 2. Arranged for lodging, 3. Hired a cook.  The cook never materialized. JWS and I ...

Christmas Stockings

And two more items off my thirty day list. Twenty-one and Twenty-two Ok, my thirty projects in thirty days ends tomorrow. Obviously, this is not a success story. But still, there are twenty-two items done. The glass is half full! Finished these last two yesterday. Pressed, Steamed and ready to go. These were not hard, just time consuming. Why didn't I make them last January? Found these little beads for the tree trunks. And these tiny little jingle bells. And a bigger jingle bell at the hanger. Plastic rings, crocheted around for the hangers. All made out of the "Stash" It pays to be a hoarder. It pays to be a hoarder. It pays to be a hoarder. C'mon, sing it with me people!

Wool Ornaments Free Pattern

Image
You will need: Felted Wool and Embroidery Floss Colors of your choice Jute Assorted buttons or beads Polyfil Freezer paper Cardstock or old greeting cards. Regular Crafting Supplies This is the pattern.  This is on a sheet of 9 x 12 paper and the box is 2 1/2" x 3" I am going to take this to work with me and scan it and create a .pdf file. If you want that, email me and I will send it to you. Trace these patterns onto cardstock. I have been using old greeting cards, colorful patterns and really?.. I was beginning to hoard them, it was time to put them to use. Trace the patterns on to freezer paper. Iron the freezer paper to the wool.  You don't actually cut the pattern out of freezer paper, you leave paper around the edge of it. It is easier to cut out the wool accurately if you are cutting through the paper and the wool. Make sense? I hope so. Now go to your recliner or couch and cut away and make a big mess. I did use the rotary cutter to cut out the squares. Way fast...
